12th Sunday of Christmas

Image
On the 12th Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me...a no-adhesive pouch. My mom, even into her 80s, loved making these pouches. They can hold chocolate, notes, gift cards and cash. They require very few supplies and stay together without adhesive! Measurements (video tutorial and full list of supplies are located at the bottom of this post) DSP (6" x 6", although you can use any size that's square) Coordinating DSP or cardstock for embellishing (scraps) Basic White cardstock (scrap) Directions Fold one corner of the DSP to meet the opposite corner. Burnish the fold. Lay the folded piece so the tips you just matched are pointing down. Fold both of these tips toward the top, so that you are just over 1/2" from the top. Burnish this new fold. Take one of the other corners and fold across, aligning the edge with the fold line you made in the previous step. Repeat Step 4 with the other corner. Fold one of the two flaps down. Open pouch a little so everything stays....

Christmas Ornaments from Scraps

Raise your hand if you have scraps of DSP... Okay, now that everyone has their hand raised, I have a quick and easy project for you thanks to Stampin' Up's CEO, Sara Douglass. I literally watched her create one then hopped into my craft room for Friday Night Live, where I created two without any trouble. Photo coming soon...play the video below to see what it looks like in the meantime. Measurements (complete list of supplies at the bottom of this post) DSP  (2) 1/2" x 3-1/2" (2) 1/2" x 3" (2) 1/2" x 2-1/2" (2) 1/2" x 2-1/4" Silver Specialty Paper or Coordinating Cardstock (two 1/4" x 1-1/2" strips) Medium or large paper clip or 6-8" of silver trim Directions Glue like sides of the 2-1/4" strips together so that the pattern you want featured is showing. 11th Sunday of Christmas

On the 11th Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me... a Ghirardelli chocolate pouch. Measurements (Video tutorial and full list of supplies used can be found at the bottom of this post) DSP (3-1/4" x 5") Coordinating DSP (scrap) Evening Evergreen cardstock (scrap) Basic White cardstock (scrap) Directions On the wrong side of the DSP, apply Tear & Tape to the edges of both long sides and one short side. Remove backing. Fold the flaps of the Ghirardelli treat in so they don't get caught on the Tear & Tape and place the chocolate in the center of your DSP. Wrap the non-taped edge over and then overlap with the other short edge. Squeeze the ends well to get the tape to stick. Using the Layering Circles dies, cut the second smallest plain circle from coordinating DSP and the second smallest scalloped circle from the Evening Evergreen scrap. Adhere these two layers together and then adhere to the center of the pouch. Stamp "Tis the Season" in Real Red on...

Cotton Candy Winter Sky

Image
Whether the sun is just rising or it's setting, the colors of the sky vary greatly. As much as I love the vibrant oranges, I also really love the "cotton candy" colors. Yesterday, I posted a Color Color Inspiration post on my Facebook page: Misty Moonlight, Pool Party and Fresh Freesia. So, of course, I had to create a card with those colors. And I decided to use one of the gorgeous designs found in the Peaceful Place DSP to create a cotton candy winter sky. Measurements (complete supply list at the end) Misty Moonlight card base (4-1/4" x 11", scored in half at 5-1/2") Peaceful Place DSP (4-1/4" x 4-3/4") Fresh Freesia layer for inside (4" x 5-1/4") Basic White layer for inside (3-7/8" x 5-1/8") Silver Trim (about 26") Directions Use a blending brush to apply Fresh Freesia in the middle of the DSP layer. Use a blending brush to apply Pool Party ink above the Fresh Freesia. Use a blending brush to apply Misty Moonlight ab...

10th Sunday of Christmas

On the 10th Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me... a window bag filled with Kisses and love. This fun little bag gives the recipient a sneak peak of the treats inside and it's very easy to make! Here's a template to show you how the DSP will look before you put the bag together. Measurements (a video tutorial and a complete list of supplies can be found at the end of this post) Designer Series Paper (6" x 8") Basic Whisper White (scrap) Window Sheet (size should be about 3/4" greater in each dimension than the die you'll be using for the window) Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon (about 10") White Baker's Twin (about 4") Directions Using the Simply Scored tool, score on the long side of the DSP at 1/2", 3", 4-1/4" and 6-3/4". Rotate a quarter turn and score at 4-1/4". Burnish the score lines. Trim the smallest rectangle off, mitering the edge of the adjacent 1/2" tab. Add Tear & Tape to the 1/2" ...
