BEEcause Christmas is Over!

Image
Christmas is over and so I can finally move on from Christmas cards and projects to something else...namely product debuting in just a few days. Yes, the Jan-Apr Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog and SALE-a-bration brochure are going live on January 4th and I'm so excited to share some of the products with you, including the Bee Mine Suite. I've use the Bee My Valentine stamp set, the Bee Builder punch, the Square Pillow Boxes, Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon and the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers to quickly create tonight's project. All of these products are from the Bee Mine Suite, found on pages 8-9 of the Mini Catalog. Directions Use a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to add a light blue layer to the pillow box, giving the illusion that the bee is flying in the sky. If you are going to stamp on the box directly (I did not), do so now. Assemble the pillow box by folding on all the score lines, then adhering the ends together. Stamp the oval (bee's body) in Daffodil ...

On the TWELFTH Sunday of Christmas...

On the twelfth Sunday of Christmas, Sharon shared with me a...money holder. Christmas is eight days away and that means the last project in the series needs to be one made with supplies you have on hand. And who doesn't have cardstock and DSP on hand?! Papers and Measurements Cherry Cobbler cardstock (7" x 7", 1" x 7") DSP Pattern 1 (1-3/4" x 6-3/4", scraps for decorating Basic White layer) DSP Pattern 2 (1-3/4" x 6-3/4") Basic White cardstock (1-3/4" x 6-3/4", scrap) Directions Score the 7" Cherry Cobbler piece on one side at 2" and 5". Adhere the subtler DSP pattern (2) to the bottom section (in the folded up position). Find the center of the cardstock/DSP 2 section and punch a semi-circle. Apply Tear & Tape to the e...

Add an Ornament to your Tree!

Image
I have to admit, my tree does not have an abundance of ornaments on it this year. I simply felt like keeping it simple. But one of the ornaments that did make it onto the tree is the one below. It's soooo easy to make! Measurements of Consumable Supplies Night of Navy cardstock (scrap at least 3” square) Basic Black cardstock (scrap at least 2” x 3”) Gold Foil Paper (small scrap) O Holy Night DSP (starry sky pattern at least 33” square, sand pattern at least ¾” x 3”) Gold Trim (20”) Vanilla and Gold Satin-Edged Ribbon (6", optional) DIRECTIONS Die cut manger scene from Basic Black scrap. Trim so only Joseph, Mary and Jesus remain. You can use the wise man/sheep and the shepherd elsewhere. Die cut a Night of Navy circle and a Starry Sky circle using the second largest circle die from Stylish Shapes. Die cut the bottom portion of the circle (same die as before) from the sandy pattern of DSP. Adhere sand to bottom of the starry sky pattern. Add Joseph/Mary/Jesus to scene. Place ...

On the ELEVENTH Sunday of Christmas...

On the 11th Sunday of Christmas, Sharon shared with me... a bi-fold gift card holder. Whether you want this to hold two gift cards (dinner and a movie?), or a gift card and receipt, or a gift card and note, this is a super easy way to dress up the gift. And, best of all, it doesn't require much time or supplies! Measurements A Walk in the Forest DSP (4" x 11-3/4") Basic White cardstock (scrap, 2-1/4" x 3-1/4") Real Red ribbon (18") Directions Score DSP on the long side at 2-7/8", 5-7/8", and 8-7/8". Apply Tear & Tape to the 1" section on each end, and also along the bottom of the left section and the bottom of the left section. Remove backing and fold edges onto adjacent section (you'll be folding each edge in so that they almost m...

A CRASH Course on Coloring with Stampin' Blends

Image
When the latest round of Online Exclusives debuted in November, Fluffiest Friends caught my eye. The critters in that set are ADORABLE. And the stamp set has matching dies, making it even better! So now that I've moved on from demonstrating Christmas cards (even though I haven't finished my own personal cards), I thought I'd break out this set, as well as my Stampin' Blends, which haven't seen much action in the last couple months. Measurements Pumpkin Pie card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Basic White cardstock (scrap for kitty, 3/8" x 2" for sentiment Basic Gray cardstock (4-1/4" x 3/4") Brights 6" x 6" DSP (orange thin stripe pattern, 4-1/4" x 3") Directions Stamp kitty in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White scrap. Using small strokes, add color to kitty, concentrating on the 1/2" area toward kitty's edges, using SU800 Stampin' Blend marker. Let sit for a minute...
