Add an Ornament to your Tree!

I have to admit, my tree does not have an abundance of ornaments on it this year. I simply felt like keeping it simple. But one of the ornaments that did make it onto the tree is the one below. It's soooo easy to make!

Measurements of Consumable Supplies

Night of Navy cardstock (scrap at least 3” square)

Basic Black cardstock (scrap at least 2” x 3”)

Gold Foil Paper (small scrap)

O Holy Night DSP (starry sky pattern at least 33” square, sand pattern at least ¾” x 3”)

Gold Trim (20”)

Vanilla and Gold Satin-Edged Ribbon (6", optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Die cut manger scene from Basic Black scrap. Trim so only Joseph, Mary and Jesus remain. You can use the wise man/sheep and the shepherd elsewhere.

  2. Die cut a Night of Navy circle and a Starry Sky circle using the second largest circle die from Stylish Shapes.

  3. Die cut the bottom portion of the circle (same die as before) from the sandy pattern of DSP.

  4. Adhere sand to bottom of the starry sky pattern. Add Joseph/Mary/Jesus to scene.

  5. Place hoop on grid paper and find the point on the circle directly opposite the area where the two ends of the hoop have been melded together. Add a mini glue dot to this point.

  6. Take center point of ribbon and adhere to the glue dot you just placed.

  7. Bring both ends of the gold trim up to the top, add another mini glue dot to help hold things in place and tie a double-knot (this should be where the meld point is).

  8. With remaining trim, loop the ends into a knot.

  9. Place the Night of Navy circle behind both the front and the back trim pieces so that it is centered in the middle of the hoop. Near the top of the ornament, take the top (front) piece of trim and shift it to the left of the bottom (back strand). Add a glue dot on top to secure.

  10. Repeat the process near the bottom, except have the top (front) piece of twine to the right of the bottom (back) and place a glue dot on both. Steps 9-10 keep the ornament from spinning.

  11. Add more dimensionals, then adhere manger scene layer exactly on top.

  12. Adhere a star that has been die-cut from the Gold Foil paper.
