A CRASH Course on Coloring with Stampin' Blends

 When the latest round of Online Exclusives debuted in November, Fluffiest Friends caught my eye. The critters in that set are ADORABLE. And the stamp set has matching dies, making it even better! So now that I've moved on from demonstrating Christmas cards (even though I haven't finished my own personal cards), I thought I'd break out this set, as well as my Stampin' Blends, which haven't seen much action in the last couple months.


Measurements
  • Pumpkin Pie card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Basic White cardstock (scrap for kitty, 3/8" x 2" for sentiment
  • Basic Gray cardstock (4-1/4" x 3/4")
  • Brights 6" x 6" DSP (orange thin stripe pattern, 4-1/4" x 3")

Directions
  1. Stamp kitty in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White scrap.
  2. Using small strokes, add color to kitty, concentrating on the 1/2" area toward kitty's edges, using SU800 Stampin' Blend marker. Let sit for a minute or two.
  3. Using small strokes again, color with Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend marker, concentrating even closer to edges. Allow to set for a minute or two.
  4. Repeat with Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend marker, concentrating on the edges and anywhere you feel there should be more shading. Allow to set for a minute or two.
  5. Add Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend marker to center of daisy, and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blend marker to leaf.
  6. Color pot using the Light Copper Clay Stampin' Blend marker. Add dimension with the Dark Copper Clay Stampin' Blend marker.
  7. Using the SU800 Stampin' Blend marker, blend the colors and carry color more to center of kitty. Keep blending until you get desired results.
  8. Die cut kitty using the second largest circle from Stylish Shapes dies.
  9. Stamp "With Gratitude" sentiment from Earthen Textures in Memento Tuxedo Black pad onto thin Basic White strip. Angle cut ends.
  10. Adhere Basic Gray cardstock strip to the back of the DSP so that 1/4" sticks above the top.
  11. Adhere DSP to card base.
  12. Add kitty circle to card front using Dimensionals. 
  13. Add sentiment to card front using a Mini Dimensional on the left side and basic adhesive on the right side (to accommodate the different levels of the elements).
  14. Add Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
  15. Stamp kitty in Pumpkin Pie pad onto bottom right corner of the Basic White layer and adhere to inside of card.

 It was rainy and cool all day today, but that's not going to dampen my beach vibes! I was inspired by a card done by a German demonstrator named Antje to create this sweet little card featuring the On the Horizon bundle from the Jan-June mini catalog. Who Wants Some Apple Cider?

 It's apple season in Maine. I have to be honest, I don't pick a lot of apples. Or drink a lot of apple cider. But I do love apple cider doughnuts, so that counts, right? Tonight, I featured the More than Autumn bundle, which was also featured in my Sept. 24th Tune in Tuesday class. I love this bundle and think you will also! Measurements Crumb Cake card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Splendid Autumn DSP (medium green background and deep red background, each 3" x 4-1/2", plus a scrap of the deep red background) Basic White cardstock (5/8" x 3", scraps) Directions Adhere green background layer to card base on an angle, then add the red background layer on top, at a different angle.  Die cut circle from Basic White cardstock.  It's still summery here in southern Maine, but the nights are getting cooler and it won't be long before the leaves begin changing. Until then, I have a card for you made with the Changing Leaves bundle, an Online Exclusive from Stampin' Up! It's currently on backorder, but should be in the week of September 9th.
