The DSP is the Star of the Show
Continuing on with my scrappy strip techniques, I've got a Star Quilt pattern for you. It looks much more complex and involved than it actually is. The secret lies in four small squares!
Cardstock and DSP Measurements
- Thick Basic White card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
- Basic White cardstock (3" x 3", four 3/4" x 3/4" squares)
- Night of Navy cardstock (3-1/4" x 3-1/4")
- Mediterranean Blooms DSP
- Pattern 1 (oranges): 2-1/2" x 4", 1/2" x 5"
- Pattern 2 (lemons/blossoms): 1/2" x 5"
- Pattern 3 (Navy with white flowers): 1/2"x 5"
- Pattern 4 (Navy with white diamonds): 1/2" x 5"
- Additional strip of choice: 1/2" x either 4" or 5-1/4" (for inside)
Directions
- Apply small amount of adhesive near the end of one of the 1/2" strips and adhere to Basic White 3" square so that one edge runs along a diagonal of the square.
- Apply small amount of adhesive near the end of a second 1/2" strip and adhere adjacent to the first strip (on the other side of the diagonal).
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with the remaining strips, working on the opposite diagonal.
- Weave the strips, then adhere the whole of each strip to the Basic White square. Trim the parts that hang over the edge.
- Adhere one of the 3/4" squares to each corner.
- Emboss the Basic White 3" square using the Metallic Plate embossing folder (or other folder of choice).
- Adhere Basic White square to the Night of Navy square.
- Adhere large DSP layer to the left side of the card front, then attach star layer with Dimensionals.
- Stamp "thanks" in Night of Navy ink in bottom right corner.
- Add yellow dot from the Glossy Dots Assortment to the center of the star.
- Adhere additional card strip to decorate inside, if desired.
