Changing Leaves...not quite yet!

Image
It's still summery here in southern Maine, but the nights are getting cooler and it won't be long before the leaves begin changing. Until then, I have a card for you made with the Changing Leaves bundle, an Online Exclusive from Stampin' Up! It's currently on backorder, but should be in the week of September 9th. And in case you missed my Tune in Tuesday class a few days ago, I've linked to it after the link to the replay of my Friday Night Live where I created this card. Measurements Crumb Cake card base (4-1/4" x 11", scored and folded in half at 5-1/2") Basic White cardstock (4" x 5-1/4", various sizes of scraps for leaves and sentiment) Country Woods DSP (2-3/4" x 4") Linen Thread (four 6" lengths) Directions Adhere DSP layer to Basic White layer. Lay the four lengths of Linen Thread next to each other to cover the area where the DSP meets the Basic White in the middle of the card. Adhere on back side with tape or desired...

The DSP is the Star of the Show

Continuing on with my scrappy strip techniques, I've got a Star Quilt pattern for you. It looks much more complex and involved than it actually is. The secret lies in four small squares! It's Getting Twisted in Mrs. Rogers' Stamperhood!

Image
When I say it's getting twisted in the Stamperhood, I don't mean THAT kind of twisted, I mean the Faux Twisted Ribbon Technique kind of twisted. For my August Technique Tuesday class, I'm featuring techniques that use up scraps, or at least small amounts of DSP. I certainly don't limit myself to scraps, although that is what got me started with that class. Anyway, I wanted to show the Faux Twisted Ribbon Technique tonight because I show a Double Faux Twisted Ribbon technique on Tuesday. The technique is much the same, but there are variations, even beyond tonight's and Tuesday's. I'll discuss that a bit in my video tonight.
