Trucking Along to the Beach

This summer has been unusually hot and humid for southern Maine but today felt like it's supposed to. Warm and in the 80s, low humidity...it was a perfect day. My Friday night routine is to hit the food trucks with my husband before coming home to shoot my Friday Night Live. Often, there are classic cars and trucks in the parking lot. One of the trucks even inspired the card I made tonight.

Measurements

  • Pool Party card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4")
  • Basic White cardstock (two 4" x 5-1/4", 1/2" strip, scraps)
  • Lemon Lolly cardstock (scrap large enough for 2nd largest Stylish Shapes circle)
  • Basic Beige Bordered Ribbon (about 4")
Directions
  1. Stamp truck outline and palm tree/surfboard/life preserver outline in Memento Black ink on scrap Basic White cardstock. 
  2. Stamp the truck fill image in Pool Party ink, the wheel fill image in Pebbled Path, and the palm tree fill image in Granny Apple Green ink.
  3. Color surfboard with Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends, palm tree trunk in Copper Clay ink (or Pecan Pie ink) and life preserver with Real Red Stampin' Blends.
  4. Punch out truck and fussy cut palm tree/surfboard/life preserver image.
  5. Emboss one of the Basic White layers with the Painted Texture 3D folder. Adhere to card base.
  6. Die cut 2nd largest circle from Stylish Shapes dies from Lemon Lolly cardstock scrap. Adhere to card front.
  7. Adhere truck and palm tree/surfboard/life preserver images to card front using Dimensionals.
  8. Add Basic Beige ribbon beneath truck to represent the sandy road.
  9. Stamp sentiment in Coastal Cabana on Basic White strip and trim ends. Adhere to card with Dimensionals.
  10. Color a Decorative Matte Dot with Medium-Dark Stampin' Blend and add to palm tree as a coconut.
  11. Stamp the remaining Basic White layer as desired and add to inside of card.

Changing Leaves...not quite yet!

 It's still summery here in southern Maine, but the nights are getting cooler and it won't be long before the leaves begin changing. Until then, I have a card for you made with the Changing Leaves bundle, an Online Exclusive from Stampin' Up! It's currently on backorder, but should be in the week of September 9th.  I just LOVE the Wildly Flowering DSP and wanted to share a fun card with you. I was inspired as I was designing projects for my Wildly Flowering class that I have tomorrow and decided this would be a nice bonus idea...and one to share with everyone. Measurements Misty Moonlight card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half) Basic White cardstock (2-1/4" x 3-3/4", medium scrap, small scrap) Wildly Flowering DSP (3" x 5-1/4", 4" x 5-1/4", 3/4" x 6") Wild Wheat ribbon (8") Directions36556 Adhere 3" x 5-1/4" DSP to left front of card.
