Valentine Series Episode 4: Treat Pouch
I love making treat holders and this one is great because it goes together so quickly, yet looks like it took some time.
Directions
- Start with a piece of DSP that measures 5" x 6-1/2". You want the pattern to be running portrait in nature, even though it looks like the pouch is landscape.
- On the long side, score at 1/2", 1-1/2", 3-1/2" and 4-1/2".
- On the short side, score at 1", 1-1/2", 3-1/2" and 4".
- Burnish all score lines.
- With the wrong side up, fold the 1/2" end strip toward you (so the pattern that is on the outside is only showing that 1/2".
- Apply Tear & Tape on the 1/2" end strip and also along one of the wide sections along the long sides. See diagram.
- Remove the backing from the Tear & Tape on the 1/2" end strip and fold the end opposite of the DSP to meet the folded edge of the 1/2" strip.
- Remove one of the smaller Tear & Tape piece backings and squeeze ends together as you pinch the sides near the end.
- Insert treats (three Ghirardellis fit nicely).
- Remove the remaining Tear & Tape backing and finish forming pouch.
- Punch one large Flirty Flamingo heart and three small Real Red hearts using the Bee Builder punch.
- Stamp "love you" in Real Red ink on the Flirty Flamingo heart, then adhere it and the three small hearts to the 1-3/4" DSP. Adhere this layer to the 1-7/8" Real Red layer. Adhere to front of pouch.
