It'll Bee in the Bag!

I've got just a little more of my Bee Mine DSP left, so I thought I'd show how to create a cute little bag that'll hold several cards and envelopes. Or socks. Or candy. But it really is perfect for cards and it goes together so simply!

Measurements

  • Bee Mine DSP (bee pattern with Petal Pink honeycomb on reverse): 7-3/4" x 12
  • Sweet Sorbet cardstock: 3" x 3-1/2"
  • Petal Pink cardstock: 2-3/4" x 3-1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/2" x 3"
  • Daffodil Delight: scrap
  • Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon: 9"
Directions
  1. Score DSP on the long side at 4-1/2", 5-1/2", 10" and 11".
  2. Score DSP on the short side at 1" and 6-3/4".
  3. Burnish on all score lines.
  4. Fold the top down (toward you) so that 1" of the honeycomb side shows at the top. Adhere it so it stays down.
  5. On the bottom, cut off the square that is attached to the side with the 1" scoring, then cut up on each vertical score line just until it hits the 1" horizontal score line. Miter (angle cut) the two edges of the small squares, as well as the bottom of the side tab.
  6. Add Tear & Tape (or glue) to the 1" side tab, one of the long rectangular bottom tabs and both small square tabs, applying it on the right side (outside pattern).
  7. Stamp the bee strips in Memento Black on the Daffodil Delight scrap, then punch using Bee Builder punch. Add face.
  8. Determine bee placement on Basic White layer, then add the wings, antenna and bee trail in Memento Black.
  9. Stamp sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink. Add adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers as desired.
  10. Score Sweet Sorbet layer at 3-1/2" and fold in half.
  11. Adhere stamped layer to Petal Pink layer, then to Sweet Sorbet card. Adhere to the large front panel that is closest to the side tab.
  12. Flip box so that the wrong side is showing. Fold the side tab down to expose the outside pattern/Tear & Tape, remove the backing from the side tab and form box by folding on the middle score line. The edges should meet exactly. (You may want to try it without adhering first, just so you can make adjustments as necessary.)
  13. Remove backing from square tabs and the rectangular tab and fold in, starting with the square tabs. The tab without the Tear&Tape should be folded in last. Set bag upright and use a bone folder to secure the tabs together.
  14. If you want a handle, punch a small (1/8" circle) in each side, centered in the 1" side areas at the top. Add ribbon using two white brads.
