The Weather's Going to be PERFECT for a Sleigh Ride
Tonight's card is a celebration of the snow that is set to hit southern Maine in another day or so. I've never been on a sleigh ride, but I bet it's magical. It's magical just looking at this scene, I think! I'm sad to say that the Horse & Sleigh bundle and the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP have both been retired from the Online Exclusives, but you can enjoy them in use here, and you can certainly use the layout to create other scenes of your choosing.
- Garden Green cardstock (4-1/4" x 11")
- Pool Party cardstock (4-1/8" x 5-3/8", 1-7/16" x 5-3/8", 1-3/8" x 5-3/8")
- Basic White cardstock (scrap for horse/sleigh)
- One Horse Open Sleigh DSP (cabin sheet)
Directions
- Score Garden Green cardstock in half at 5-1/2". On this score line, cut down 2-3/4" (so only 1-1/2" is uncut). Turn and place Garden Green cardstock at the 2-3/4" mark and cut until you hit the score line. This should remove a section of the Garden Green base.
- Adhere large Pool Party panel to the inside of the card.
- Adhere the slightly larger Pool Party layer to the front of the flap so that the top is flush with the top of the Garden Green section.
- Adhere the remaining Pool Party layer to the inside (back of) front flap.
- Cut the top off the DSP so that top is about 1" above the peak of the roof of the chalet. Trim off 1/2" from the left side of the DSP and 1/4" from the right side of the DSP, then cut the bottom of the DSP so that the chalet piece is 3" wide.
- Trim the bottom off the bottom piece from the last step so that part that was connected to the chalet piece is 1-3/8" wide. (This means you should be trimming about 1/4" off the bottom, I think.)
- Adhere the chalet layer to the inside of the card, making the left, top and right borders equal.
- Adhere the 1-3/8" wide DSP piece to the front flap, aligning the top of the DSP to the top of the flap. (to create a continuous image).
- Stamp "Sending warmth" sentiment on the inside of the front flap using Garden Green ink.
- Stamp horse and sleigh in Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Stampin' Blends. Adhere the bottom portion of the image to the front flap.
- Add Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes as desired.
