A Valentine to be Treasured

Image
I have to admit that I really like most (LOL) of the projects I present, but this one really stands out! It's a unique gift box with a domed lid...reminds me of a treasure chest. But the best part is that it doesn't take much in the way of supplies and it is sooooo easy and quick to put together. Cardstock Measurements Sweet Sorbet cardstock (6" x 8", scraps) Basic White cardstock (1" x 2-3/4") Bee Mine DSP (striped pattern, 4" x 6" with lines running vertically when held portrait orientation) Directions Score at 2" on all four sides of the 6" x 8" Sweet Sorbet. Cut along score lines as shown in diagram above and miter the edges of the resulting tabs.  Fold tabs in and adhere to form box. Punch two 2" circles from Sweet Sorbet cardstock. Apply adhesive to the bottom half of each circle and attach one on each end of your box. You may find it helpful to score them in half first so you have a line to guide, but you can usually ...

My sweet doggo, Mila, greeted me enthusiastically when I got home from work this afternoon, as she always does. When is that not fun to come home to? For all the aggravation of Puppy Mila (she ate three pairs of prescription glasses), she's turned into such a wonderful dog. Now the only thing I don't like about her is how much she sheds, but that is beyond her control, so I'll forgive her for that. Measurements of Paper Supplies Misty Moonlight card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded at 4-1/4") Misty Moonlight cardstock (4" x 5-1/4") Basic White cardstock (4" x 5-1/4", 1" x 2", scrap) Vellum Basics (scrap of polka dot design) Directions Place Doggone Friendly stamp rubber side up and apply Night of Navy ink to rubber. Lay on Misty Moonlight layer, cover with a piece of copy paper and rub to transfer ink to cardstock. Using the white watercolor pencil, color areas of dogs that you think would be white in real life. Using ot...

I received a card in the mail this week (part of a card swap I participated in) and I thought it was absolutely adorable. Kudos to Judith Patterson for inspiring tonight's Friday Night Live! The first card below is her card and the second is my card, using the Perennial Lavender DSP. Measurements of Supplies (Perennial Lavender card) Lost Lagoon card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Basic White cardstock (1" x 2-3/4", two 4" x 5-1/4") Perennial Lavender DSP (two different designs, both 2-1/4" x 4-1/2" portrait orientation) Linen Thread (11-13") Directions Emboss one of the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layers using the Exposed Brick folder.  Add Highland Heather ink to the embossed layer with a Blending Brush. Adhere to card base. Stack the two pieces of DSP together (featured one on top of the other) and die cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies (largest tag die). Position together with a little glue. ...
