On the EIGHTH Sunday of Christmas...

On the eighth Sunday of Christmas, Sharon shared with me...oversized tags! These tags, heavily inspired by my mentor, Ronda Wade, are useful and make a statement all at the same time. One of them even has a secret...it's a gift card holder!

Measurements for O Holy Night tag

  • Basic Black cardstock (3-1/2" x 6-1/4", scrap)
  • Joy of Christmas DSP (Pebbled Path music notes pattern, 3 1/4" x 6")
  • Vellum cardstock (2-3/4" x 5-1/2")
  • Basic White cardstock (3" x 4", scraps)
  • Black and White Gingham Ribbon (two 10" pieces)
Directions for O Holy Night tag
  1. Punch top corners of Basic Black, DSP and vellum layers with the straight edge from the Very Best Trio punch.
  2. Tear a little from the bottom of the vellum tag.
  3. Adhere DSP to Basic Black tag. Punch a ribbon hole using the Very Best Trio punch.
  4. Die cut a stitched circle using the second-to-largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.
  5. Stamp "O Holy Night" in Memento Jet Black pad onto one of the Basic White scraps, then punch out using 2-3/8" punch. Adhere onto stitched circle using Dimensionals.
  6. Die cut manger scene from Basic Black scrap and trim so that only Mary, Joseph and Jesus remain.
  7. Adhere family to bottom of the vellum and the circles above them.
  8. Adhere vellum layer to Basic Black/DSP layers by applying adhesive only to the areas covered by the die cuts.
  9. Thread one ribbon through the ribbon holes and tie the other around both ends (near the tag) in a bow.
  10. Add rhinestones to the front.
  11. Add Basic White layer to the back, if desired (for To/From).

Measurements for Shepherd tag
  • Very Vanilla (3-1/4" x 6-1/4", scrap for tag)
  • DSP (woodgrain pattern, 3" x 6")
  • Basic Black (scraps)
  • Vanilla and Gold Satin-Edged Ribbon (about 12")
Directions for Shepherd tag
  1. Cut top corners from Very Vanilla and DSP layers to form tags. Adhere these layers together.
  2. Die cut two sheep.
  3. Adhere sheep and the shepherd from the first tag trimmings to the lower right corner of the tag.
  4. Stamp sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla scrap. Die cut using the second smallest tag die from Tailor Made Tags dies
  5. Thread the ribbon through the hole made by the Tailor Made Tags die, and tie a knot with the loose ends near the tag.
  6. Adhere the sentiment tag to the oversized tag using Dimensionals. For balance, make sure the hold of the sentiment tag is centered near the left edge ("top" of the tag).
  7. Apply Tear & Tape to the two shorts sides and one long side of the small DSP layer, and adhere to the back of the bottom (opposite end from ribbon) of the tag.
  8. Add Brushed Metallic Dots to the front.
