FALL in Love with Autumn Leaves

It's just about peak season in southern Maine and the colors are, as always, gorgeous. I was inspired to create a card that mimics what I see outside, and I think I accomplished it with some reinkers and watercolor paper. Oh, and the Autumn Leaves bundle, of course.

Cardstock/Ribbon Measurements

  • Crumb Cake cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Crumb Cake cardstock scrap
  • Basic Black cardstock (4-1/4" x 5-1/2")
  • Fluid 100 watercolor paper (one 5"x 7" sheet)
  • Wavy Trim (about 8")
Directions
  1. Set up your color palette by dropping 2 drops of each reinker onto separate areas of a plate, palette dish, aluminum foil, etc.
  2. Apply a liberal amount of water to Fluid 100 paper using the largest Water Painter brush. It's best to work in smaller sections (1/3 of the paper at a time).
  3. Dip the small or medium Water Painter into the Crushed Curry ink and then touch to the wet Fluid 100. Repeat with other colors, moving from lightest to darkest color. I like to do sections of yellow/orange/red for maple leaves, yellow/green for oak leaves, and green for the little leaves.
  4. Dry paper with Heat Tool, then die cut the leaves.
  5. Stamp sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Crumb Cake scrap and die cut.
  6. Adhere leaves to Black layer, then trim down to 3-3/4" x 5".
  7. Wrap Wavy Trim around leaf layer and secure in the back with Glue Dots (or other adhesive).
  8. Adhere leaf layer to card base using Dimensionals.
  9. Adhere sentiment layer over Wavy Trim using Dimensionals.
  10. Add any extra leaves to the inside of the card for decoration.
  11. Add Butterflies to card front, if desired.
