Grateful to Hit the Beach

 I don't ever go to the beach during the daytime in the summer...too busy, but I am grateful for those times when I can head down and relax on a warm night, or take in the beauty with a walk in the morning. It really is a very serene place to go...when it's not packed with tourists, lol. But I'm thankful for them, too, because they keep my taxes down.

Cardstock Supplies with Measurements
  • Boho Blue card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Basic White cardstock (3-1/4" x 4", 4" x 5-1/4", scrap)
  • Night of Navy cardstock (scrap)
Directions
  1. Using the large rectangular image from the Oceanfront set, stamp the sky in Balmy Blue onto scratch paper, then onto the top of the Basic White 3-1/4" x 4" layer without reinking (second generation stamping) leaving about 1/4" between it and the top of the layer.
  2. Stamp the middle area with the angled four-sided image in Boho Blue ink, then the triangular wedge shape in Crumb Cake ink beneath that.
  3. Add sea grass in Copper Clay ink to the left side of the seascape.
  4. Using Night of Navy ink, stamp "Thank you for everything" repeatedly across the Boho Blue card front (landscape orientation)
  5. Adhere the stamped seascape to the left side of the card base.
  6. Stamp the bird from Seaside Bay onto the Basic White scrap. Very gently and with more of a pouncing motion than stroke, add Boho Blue ink to the top portion and Crumb Cake ink to the breast and part of the head with a Water Painter. Die cut.
  7. Punch a 2-3/8" circle from Night of Navy scrap and adhere the die cut bird with Dimensionals.
  8. Adhere the circle to the card front so it overlaps the seascape and visible sentiment,
  9. Stamp the birds from Seaside Bay along the bottom of the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layer (landscape) using Night of Navy ink.
  10. Add the sand dots image from Oceanfront around the birds using Crumb Cake ink.
  11. Adhere inside layer to the inside of the card.
  12. Stamp the wave in Boho Blue ink in the lower left corner of the envelope front.

 It was rainy and cool all day today, but that's not going to dampen my beach vibes! I was inspired by a card done by a German demonstrator named Antje to create this sweet little card featuring the On the Horizon bundle from the Jan-June mini catalog. Who Wants Some Apple Cider?

 It's apple season in Maine. I have to be honest, I don't pick a lot of apples. Or drink a lot of apple cider. But I do love apple cider doughnuts, so that counts, right? Tonight, I featured the More than Autumn bundle, which was also featured in my Sept. 24th Tune in Tuesday class. I love this bundle and think you will also! Measurements Crumb Cake card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Splendid Autumn DSP (medium green background and deep red background, each 3" x 4-1/2", plus a scrap of the deep red background) Basic White cardstock (5/8" x 3", scraps) Directions Adhere green background layer to card base on an angle, then add the red background layer on top, at a different angle.  Die cut circle from Basic White cardstock.  It's still summery here in southern Maine, but the nights are getting cooler and it won't be long before the leaves begin changing.
