Christmas Sleigh Decor
It's been a great Christmas in July week and tonight's project was one I've been planning for a couple months! Last spring, I created a home decor element with a beach theme, so I knew I wanted to create something that could get me through the other six months of the Maine year (nine months?). I created one off camera (the one immediately below, and then I let those watching along with me give input to create the one you see directly below that (red). Because this was a Christmas in July video, I'm going to give the directions for the red version.
The frame is a 8" x 8" frame I got on Amazon. The finished size is 9" x 9".
- Real Red cardstock (8" x 8")
- Basic White cardstock (6-1/2" x 6-1/2", scraps)
- One Horse Open Sleigh DSP (full sheet)
Directions
- Stamp the horse/sleigh image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a large Basic White scrap. Color with assorted Blends and die cut.
- Die cut several of the snow mound die images from Basic White scraps.
- Die cut the large banner from the Stylish Shapes dies.
- Adhere one layer of snow mounds to DSP. Adhere a second set below and overlapping the other mounds using Dimensionals.
- Apply Dimensionals to the horse/sleigh die cut and add to DSP. I positioned it so that the sleigh and horse feet fell between the two layers of snow.
- Adhere DSP panel to Basic White square, then to Real Red square.
- Stamp sentiment in Real Red ink on the large banner die cut. Adhere to project with Dimensioals.
- Add snowflakes as desired.
- Insert into frame.
