Sneaking up on Father's Day

The Gorgeous Garden dies are...gorgeous! They can dress anything up and the detail on them is fantastic. One way I had not even considered using the leafy die is in creating a wildlife scene. But, Stampin' Up! provides venues for demonstrators to share their ideas and UK demonstrator Zoe Tant did just that. Her layout was a little different and she used some different images and colors, but it was inspiration for my card below. I just love how we are both inspired by and inspire others.

Consumable Supplies and Measurements

  • Garden Green card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Garden Green cardstock (two 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", or slightly smaller)
  • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4", scrap if you want to cut out your image)
  • Fresh as a Daisy DSP (the sky/ground scenic panel)
  • In Color Jute (Pebbled Path, 12-15")

Directions
  1. Die cut the leafy die from one of the Garden Green panels. If you've used a slightly smaller layer, don't worry if there isn't much excess around the edges...it's not needed.
  2. Using a paper trimmer, cut a 1/2" frame from the remaining  Garden Green panel. Simply slide your cardstock into the paper trimmer so that one edge lines up with the 1/2" mark to the left of the cutting ditch. Use the arrow guide on the cutting blade to begin cutting 1/2" up from the bottom edge and stop when you are 1/2" from the top edge. Repeat on all four sides.
  3. Adhere the leafy die to the back of the Garden Green frame so that the front side of the die cut is against the back of the frame.
  4. Stamp the wolf in Pebbled Path ink onto the DSP panel. You may wish to color in the image in places using a Blender Pen and Pebbled Path ink if some of the background shows through. Alternatively, you can stamp your image on Basic White scrap and fussy cut.
  5. Adhere the DSP to the card base.
  6. Lay the frame/leaves on top of the card base as if you were adhering it, determine what leaves you want to cut out to reveal a portion of the wolf image. Cut out the leaves and adhere the frame to the card base using Dimensionals (be sure to add some behind some of the center leaves).
  7. Cut a Garden Green layer for the sentiment (about 1-1/4" x 2"), then stamp sentiment in Pebbled Path ink, leaving room at the top for the jute. Flag bottom.
  8. Wrap jute around the sentiment layer once or twice and tie a bow. Adhere layer to card front using dimensionals.
  9. Stamp Basic White layer using wolf image in Pebbled Path and adhere to inside. Add another sentiment if desired.
