It's Almost Berry Season in Maine!
I love berries...strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. Like most kids, when I was sent out to gather berries for my mom to make jam, I ate as much as I picked. As an adult, I still eat a lot while I'm picking. They are just too hard to resist! And I found it too hard to resist purchasing the Berry Harvest background stamp that Stampin' Up! recently released.
Measurements
- Berry Burst card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
- Basic Black cardstock (4" x 5-1/4", small scrap)
- Basic White cardstock (two 3-7/8" x 5-1/8", large scrap)
- Linen thread (20")
Directions
- Ink the whole berry/leaf image portion of the Berry Harvest stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. Lay large Basic White scrap on top, cover with scrap paper and rub to transfer the image.
- Color image using Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green and Pecan Pie Blends.
- Fussy cut image. Touch up white spots witht Blends.
- On one of the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Basic White layers, use the plaid mask and Berry Burst ink to create a pretty background layer. You may ink the whole layer or just a portion of it. Adhere this layer to the Basic Black layer, and then to the card base.
- Adhere the berry image to the card front using dimensionals.
- Tie a double bow with the 20" thread and adhere to the card using a mini glue dot.
- Stamp "Happy Birthday" from the Something Fancy stamp set in Versamark onto Basic Black scrap. Heat emboss then die cut using the parallelogram-shaped die from the Something Fancy dies. Adhere to card front using mini dimensionals (make sure the mini dimensional doesn't sit atop the bow's knot).
- Mask and add the background plaid design to a portion of the remaining Basic White layer and adhere to the inside of the card.
- Mask and add the background plaid design to the flap of an envelope for a coordinating look.
