Get Rid of the White!
What happens when you stamp and color on white cardstock and then die cut it? You get a border of white. That's fine if the layer you are mounting it on is white, but what if it's not and you don't want the white to show? I have a little trick, thanks to fellow demonstrator Martin from the UK.
Measurements of cardstock, etc.
- Soft Succulent base(5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
- Soft Succulent cardstock (4" x 5-1/4")
- Pale Papaya cardstock (3-3/4" x 5")
- Thick Basic White (scrap)
- Calypso Coral (3/4" x 2 -1/4")
- Linen Thread (about 9")
Directions
- Stamp flowers on Thick Basic White scrap and color with Blends.
- Color around the image with Soft Succulent Blends (or, whatever color the base of your cardstock is). Die cut.
- Die cut the heart oval from the Soft Succulent layer, then emboss it using the crosshatch folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folder collection.
- Stamp sentiment in Versamark ink onto Calypso Coral layer, add white embossing powder (shake off excess)t. then heat emboss.
- Adhere sentiment layer to the bottom of the center oval, then add flower die cut above it with dimensionals.
- Tie a bow with Linen Thread and adhere to card with a glue dot.
- Adhere Pale Papaya layer to the back of the Soft Succulent layer, then adhere to card base.
- Add three of the Iridescent Pastel Gems.
- Decorate inside as desired. You'll probably want to at least add a layer of white inside.
