Get Rid of the White!

What happens when you stamp and color on white cardstock and then die cut it? You get a border of white. That's fine if the layer you are mounting it on is white, but what if it's not and you don't want the white to show? I have a little trick, thanks to fellow demonstrator Martin from the UK.

Measurements of cardstock, etc.

  • Soft Succulent base(5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Soft Succulent cardstock (4" x 5-1/4")
  • Pale Papaya cardstock (3-3/4" x 5")
  • Thick Basic White (scrap)
  • Calypso Coral (3/4" x 2 -1/4")
  • Linen Thread (about 9")
Directions
  1. Stamp flowers on Thick Basic White scrap and color with Blends.
  2. Color around the image with Soft Succulent Blends (or, whatever color the base of your cardstock is). Die cut.
  3. Die cut the heart oval from the Soft Succulent layer, then emboss it using the crosshatch folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folder collection.
  4. Stamp sentiment in Versamark ink onto Calypso Coral layer, add white embossing powder (shake off excess)t. then heat emboss.
  5. Adhere sentiment layer to the bottom of the center oval, then add flower die cut above it with dimensionals.
  6. Tie a bow with Linen Thread and adhere to card with a glue dot.
  7. Adhere Pale Papaya layer to the back of the Soft Succulent layer, then adhere to card base.
  8. Add three of the Iridescent Pastel Gems.
  9. Decorate inside as desired. You'll probably want to at least add a layer of white inside.
