In Love with Fun Folds

Ever like to try something different? All this month, I'm going to be featuring Fun Folds in my Tune in Tuesday online classes. I'll show you how to create "shoebox templates" for the fun folds so that you can have them as a ready reference when you're searching for that something different/special. The card I chose to "tease" this series features the Rain or Shine 12" x 12" DSP. It's so much fun with the special coating on various parts of the image.

And here it is "open":

Paper needed (with measurements):

  • Flirty Flamingo card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 1-1/4" and 4-1/4" on the long side)
  • Flirty Flamingo (scrap...for circle behind the focal image)
  • Rain or Shine DSP (two 1" x 5-1/2", two 2-3/4" x 5-1/4", character from one of the sheets)
  • Basic White layer (2-3/4" x 5-1/4")
Directions
  1. On the long side of your card base, score at 1-1/4" and 4-1/4". Fold the card in half on the 4-1/4", then fold back on the 1-1/4" score line.
  2. Adhere one of the 1" x 5-1/2" DSP pieces to the flap you just folded, and the other to the right side of the other panel (the "inside" of the card).
  3. Adhere one of the 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" DSP pieces to the left front of the card. Open the card and put the other 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" DSP piece on the inside left panel (back side of where you put the first one).
  4. Stamp the Basic White panel with a sentiment in Flirty Flamingo, and the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black along the bottom. Color the flowers using Blends. Adhere this layer to the remaining inside panel.
  5. Die cut a circle from the character sheet of DSP that has the smaller animals on it. Adhere this circle to a slightly larger die cut Flirty Flamingo scalloped circle.
  6. Add the focal layer (character) to the center of the front flap with dimensionals, taking card to make sure that the dimensionals only affix the circle to the front flap.
