Flirty Owls

Today was a snow day for me here in Maine. I don't have to work on Fridays, although I usually go in. But not today. We got some beautiful snow last night and I just wanted to look out my studio window and stamp ALL DAY. It's been wonderful. And this card captures the spirit of both the winter season and Valentine's Day season. Shout out to fellow demo Lorri Heiling for the inspiration.

Measurements (full supply list at the bottom of this post)

  • Thick Basic White base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1//4")
  • Basic White cardstock (4-1/4" x 5-1/2", scraps for owls)
  • Basic Black cardstock (3/4" x 2-3/4")
  • Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper (4" x 5-1/4")
Directions
  1. Stamp flying owl twice on scrap paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. Color owls with blends and fussy cut.
  2. Die cut trees from Basic White layer.
  3. Adhere Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper to card base, then adhere trees layer using dimensionals.
  4. Tuck one owl into the trees in the upper left and adhere using glue.
  5. Emboss sentiment using Versamark Pad on Basic Black strip, add white embossing powder, remove excess and heat emboss. Flag the left end.
  6. Cut the wing of the owl (owl's right wing, left as you're looking at it) so that it will drape over the sentiment strip. Adhere strip and owl to the card front.
