Quick & Simple Shaker Card
I needed a baby card and I needed a card for my Friday Night Live. I knew I wanted to do a wintry card, but not Christmas. Here's what I came up with that met all my requirements. Isn't it adorable?
Paper Measurements (full list of supplies below)
- Thick Basic White card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
- Night of Navy cardstock (3-1/4" x 4-3/4")
- Basic White cardstock (2-3/4" x 4-1/4")
- Fitting Florets DSP (2-1/2" x 4")
- Storybook Gnomes DSP (2 fox...one for outside, one for inside)
Directions
- Using Night of Navy ink, stamp outside sentiment onto the upper portion of the Fitting Florets DSP.
- Adhere a fox to the lower left corner of the Fitting Florets DSP.
- Adhere this panel to the Basic White cardstock.
- Place these layers into the clear envelope so that it is flush with the closed end and the bottom of the envelope (you want to insert it with the envelope's flap up and pointing either left or right...the flap has to fold around to the back side).
- Remove the adhesive backing from the envelope flap.
- Place a small amount of kosher salt (or whatever shaker medium you choose) between the image and the front of the envelope. Wrap excess envelope around the back, first by using the envelope's flap itself, then using Seal to adhere the excess envelope on the top. Make sure no envelope protruding. If you see some of the "hidden" portions of the envelope, simply tack down with Seal.
- Apply Seal to the back of the envelope and adhere to the Night of Navy layer.
- Adhere shaker to card base.
- Stamp inside and add the second fox to the inside as desired.
