Elegant in Blue
I'm closing out 2022 with a Stamp Camp featuring the Framed Florets bundle and the limited time offer of Flitting Florets DSP. It should be lots of fun. As I was having fun playing with the products, I decided I should also feature Framed Florets during my Friday Night Live. And I thought it fitting to feature one of the popular techniques I'd taught in 2022...whitewashing.
Cardstock Measurements (full list of supplies at the bottom of the post)
- Gray Granite card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 -1/4")
- Gray Granite layer (7/8" x 3-3/4")
- Basic White layers (3-7/8" x 5-1/8", 3/4" x 3-3/4", 3-3/4" x 5", scraps for die-cutting)
- Night of Navy layers (3-3/4" x 5", scrap for die-cutting)
Directions
- Stamp the floral image on Night of Navy scrap using Versamark ink pad, add White embossing powder, shake off excess, then heat.
- Using Craft White ink refill, mix with a little water, then paint onto the flower blossoms. Let dry (or dry with the heat tool set on low).
- Stamp the floral image in Night of Navy all over the Night of Navy layer. Adhere this layer to the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Basic White layer, then add to card base.
- Stamp the leafy branch image in Night of Navy onto Basic White scrap, then die cut that and, at the same time, the leafy/berry die. Trim about 1-1/2" off the bottom of the leafy/berry die cut.
- Stamp sentiment on the right side of the Basic White strip using Night of Navy ink.
- Adhere sentiment strip to Gray Granite strip, then adhere to the card base.
- Arrange the three die cut elements and adhere to card. The floral sentiment will overlap the sentiment strip slightly.
- Add three Classic Matte Dots (white).
- On the 3-3/4" x 5" Basic White layer, stamp a sentiment and then the floral image in NIght of Navy ink in a lower corner. Adhere to the inside of the card.
- Stamp the floral image all over the back flap of the envelope using Night of Navy ink.
