Snowy, Foxy Christmas
I like to have my Friday Night Live project determined at least a few days in advance. This week, however, I was 24 hours away with no idea what I was going to do, so I asked my Facebook followers. Mountain Air was suggested, so I went with it. Sort of. I got my inspiration from fellow demonstrator, Tammy Wilson. This card uses Mountain Air AND shows a simply technique to give a snowy day effect. Perfect as we got our first snowfall this week!
- Evening Evergreen card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
- Thick Basic White layer (2-5/8" x 3-7/8")
- Basic White layers (two 4" x 5-1/4", 3-1/2" x 4-3/4", 5/8" x 2")
- Storybook Gnomes DSP (fox)
Directions
- Use a Blending Brush to apply Balmy Blue ink to the Thick Basic White layer.
- Ink trees (I used both the single tree and the double tree images) in Old Olive ink and then use a sponge dauber to apply Evening Evergreen randomly and directly to the stamp, then stamp onto the Thick White layer. Repeat until you have all the trees you want.
- Mix a little water with Whisper White Craft ink, then use a Water Painter or paintbrush to flick it onto the Thick Basic White layer. Allow to dry naturally or use a heat tool.
- Cut the fox out from the DSP. Splatter with Whisper White Craft ink as in Step 3 and dry. Adhere to tree layer with dimensionals.
- Stamp sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink onto thin Basic White strip. Adhere that to the tree/fox layer.
- Die cut the scalloped rectangle from the 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" Basic White layer). Adhere tree/fox layer to it.
- Emboss one of the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layers using the pine bough folder from the Wintry 3D embossing folder collection. Repeat so the whole layer is embossed.
- Adhere embossed layer to card base, then adhere the scalloped rectangle/tree/fox layer to that using dimensionsals.
- Stamp trees and sentiment on the inside of the card using Old Olive and/or Evening Evergreen ink. Stamp envelope similarly.
