I LOVE a Blue Christmas...well, only a little blue.

I've been creating a lot of Christmas cards and projects using the traditional red and green, so I thought I'd go to my other favorite, white and blue with a little silver (gray). I wanted to create a very basic card that even a brand new stamper could replicate, as well as one that is still easy but requires a few more tools.

Measurements for Consumable Supplies (complete list of supplies at the bottom of this post)

  • Thick Basic White card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half)
  • Basic White cardstock (scrap) (for stepped up card, 4" x 5 1/4" and scrap)

Directions for Basic Card
  1. Stamp leafy wreath in Smoky Slate ink onto Thick Basic White card base.
  2. Stamp berries in Night of Navy ink around wreath as desired, leaving room for a bow.
  3. Stamp "Merry Christmas" in Night of Navy ink in the center of the wreath.
  4. Stamp bow in Night of Navy ink on Basic White scrap, fussy cut and adhere to card.

Directions for Stepped Up Card
  1. Stamp the leafy wreath in Smoky Slate ink onto 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White layer.
  2. Stamp berries in Night of Navy ink on the wreath as desired, leaving room for a bow.
  3. Die cut wreath, saving the center for later.
  4. Emboss the layer you die cut from using the Merry Melody embossing folder (note the direction of the notes!) and adhere to Thick Basic White card base.
  5. Adhere wreath to the card in the die cut area using dimensionals.
  6. Stamp "Merry Christmas" in the middle of the wreath. If it doesn't come out well, you can use the die cut from the center of the wreath (step 3), inserting it in the "hole", stamping and then adhering.
  7. Stamp bow in Night of Navy ink on Basic White scrap, then either die cut or fussy cut and adhere to card. Alternatively, you can use the detail bow die to die cut a bow from Night of Navy cardstock.
