Wood Carving on Paper?
I did not attach a piece of carved wood to my card base, I simply executed the Faux Wood Carving technique! I thought this was a great card to do because a) it's fall and leaves are the ambassadors of fall as far as I'm concerned, and b) I'm up to the family cabin in NH when this airs and there's wood all around me.
Measurements
- Thick Very Vanilla card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4")
- Very Vanilla cardstock (4" x 5-1/4", scrap)
- Crushed Curry cardstock (scrap)
- Natural 1/2" Woven Ribbon (7-8")
Directions
- Drag Crumb Cake ink pad over Very Vanilla layer. This adds a woodgrain texture.
- Emboss the layer using the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. The inked side should be facing AWAY from the Stampin' Up! logo.
- Drag the Early Espresso ink pad over the side with the Crumb Cake ink (this should be the debossed side, so the ink won't go in the leaf designs). Allow to dry or use a heat tool to remove some of the moisture.
- Stamp sentiment on a circle, either die cut or punched from the Very Vanilla scrap. The size is dependent on the sentiment but should be 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" in diameter to fit inside the next layer we'll punch.
- Use the Label Me Lovely punch on the Crushed Curry scrap to create a layer that goes behind the sentiment layer. Adhere layers together using dimensionals.
- Adhere faux wood carving layer to card base.
- Create a "V" with the ribbon and adhere to leaf layer, and add sentiment layers on top.
- Stamp a sentiment or other images on the inside as desired (I needed to leave mine blank).
- Emboss the envelope flap with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder.
