12 Sundays of Christmas - Week 05
First impressions are important! Turn a small gift into something extra special with cute packaging. This box measures 4-1/2" x 2" x 1-1/4" and fill hold quite a bit. Ghirardelli squares, Lindt truffles, Hershey's Kisses, ... and non-edible treats as well.
Measurements of Consumable Items (full supply list at the bottom of this post)
- Real Red cardstock (7" x 4-1/2")
- Sweetest Christmas DSP (4 5/8" x 7", could also do 4 11/16" x 7")
- Basic White cardstock (scraps)
- Read Red 3/8" ribbon (about 20")
- White twine (just as much as you need to be able to tie in a knot, 4")
Template for box
Directions
- Score at 1 1/4" on all four sides of Real Red cardstock.
- Cut and miter tabs as shown in the above diagram, then fold in and adhere tabs to form the box.
- Working with the box upside down, place DSP onto box and use your fingers to crease the edges. Flip the box over and repeat. Burnish along creases, taking the time to make sure everything is squared up (edges line up perfectly).
- Apply Tear & Tape to one of the short edges of the DSP and adhere the wrap to itself. Make sure the wrap is not too tight around the box, or you won't able to slide the box out easily.
- On Basic White cardstock, stamp a candy cane in Real Red ink and the mistletoe in Garden Green ink, then die cut.
- Stamp sentiment on Basic White scrap using Garden Green ink. Punch or die cut (circle, tag, rectangle...doesn't matter but I used a circle). Add a hole in the top of the tag using a punch or the Take Your Pick Tool.
- Wrap Real Red ribbon around the box and tie in a bow.
- Add tag to the box using White twine.
- Add Red Rhinestones as desired.
