12 Sundays of Christmas - Week 04
On the 4th Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me...an adorable bag in a box. Or at least that's what I've seen it called before. Shout out goes to fellow demonstrator Cathryn, from In the Pink Designs, for this project. She calls it a wrap-around box. You'll see why shortly.
Consumable Supplies/Measurements (full list of supplies at the bottom of this post)
- Real Red cardstock (4" x 2-1/2")
- Base DSP (9-1/2" x 3-1/2")
- Basic Black cardstock (large scrap)
- B&W DSP (large scrap)
- Basic White cardstock (medium scrap)
- Iridescent Trim (about 12")
Directions
- Score Real Red cardstock at 1/2" on all four sides. Burnish all score lines.
- Cut the score lines on the long edges just up to the horizontal score line. Do this on both long edges. Miter the small flaps. The result should look like the diagram below.
- Apply glue to the flaps and fold in, forming a box.
- Apply Tear & Tape to one long edge and one short edge of the base DSP (9-1/2" x 3-1/2").
- Remove the backing from the long piece of Tear & Tape and, starting in the middle of one of the long sides of the box, adhere to the bottom of the box you made in Step 1, wrapping the DSP around slowly and carefully. When you turn the last corner, remove the backing from the short side's Tear & Tape. Continue wrapping and then join the short edge to the other short edge.
- Squeeze the middle of the front and the middle of the back of the top of the DSP together and punch a small hole for the ribbon.
- Die cut a large scallop circle (roughly 2-7/8") from Basic Black and a large circle (roughly 2-5/8") from the B&W DSP. Adhere two pieces together.
- Stamp Scottie dog in Memento Tuxedo Black on scrap Basic White. You may need to restamp to get it darker. I recommend a Stamparatus for this. Punch the dog using the Scottie Dog punch.
- Stamp the bow in Real Red on scrap Basic White and punch out using Scottie Dog punch.
- Adhere bow to dog with Mini Glue Dot.
- Adhere dog to circle layer using Dimensionals, and then to bag using more dimensionals. You do not need a dimensional on the bottom of the circle near the dog's feet...the box naturally will help it lie flat.
- Add treats, then hread Iridescent Trim through the hole and tie a bow.
