12 Sundays of Christmas - Week 03

On the 3rd Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me...this cute little tri-fold gift card holder.

Everyone loves getting gift cards, but not a lot of people like giving them. Why? They think it's the easy way out. No thought (or at least not much thought) goes into picking up a gift card, after all. You don't have to worry about size, style, color, etc.

You can assuage your guilty feelings of giving a gift card by making the packaging extra special. This gift card holder does the trick, I think.

Consumable Supplies with Measurements (complete supply list at the bottom of this post)

  • Night of Navy cardstock (4-1/4" x 5-1/2", 9-3/4" x 4-1/4", scrap)
  • Balmy Blue cardstock (4" x 5-1/4")
  • Storybook Gnomes DSP
    • Blue Trees design (3" x 4")
    • Balmy Blue Scandanavian design (3" x 3/4", 3" x 1-3/4")
    • Large Blue Snowflakes design (3" x 4")
    • Blue Gnome
  • Basic White cardstock (3" x 4")
  • Vellum cardstock (scrap at least 2-1/2" x 2-1/2")

 Directions

  1. Emboss Balmy Blue cardstock layer with Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Adhere to 4-1/4" x 5-1//2" Night of Navy layer.
  2. Score long Night of Navy cardstock at 3-1/4" and 6-1/2". Accordian-fold and adhere to the Balmy Blue/Night of Navy card base so that the Z fold pulls left.
  3. Adhere Blue Trees design to the front panel, then adhere the small Scandanavian design strip in the lower third of the Blue Trees' panel.
  4. Die cut the blue gnome and also a Vellum cardstock circle (about 2-1/4" in diameter).
  5. Adhere vellum to front panel with adhesive under where the gnome will go so that they adhesive doesn't show through.
  6. Adhere gnome to the bottom right of the vellum circle using dimensionals.
  7. Stamp "warm wishes" in Versamark on small scrap of Night of Navy, add white embossing powder and emboss. Trim words into a small rectangle and adhere to card using dimensionals.
  8. Add the silver pearls from the Red & Green Adhesive-Backed Pearls package.
  9. For the middle section of the Z-fold, adhere the large snowflake layer, then add the 3" x 1-3/4" Scandinavian strip to the bottom of that layer using Tear & Tape.
  10. For the last section of the Z-fold, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy, then stamp the sitting gnome in Night of Navy in the lower right corner.
  11. Decorate envelope using coordinating DSP or stamping a gnome.
