Let's Make an Easel Card for Fall!
Here's a quick and easy fun fold that's sure to impress...an easel card. This card displays itself! It starts as what looks like a regular card.
But when you open it, it creates it's own stand, revealing not only the front, but a portion of the inside.
Measurements (complete list of supplies found at the bottom of this post)
- Thick Basic White card base (4-1/4" x 11", scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2")
- DSP (4" x 6" portrait for main layer, 1-7/8" x 4" for inside layer)
- Basic White cardstock (3/4" x 3.5")
Directions
- Begin by trimming 3/4" from the bottom of the 4" x 6" DSP. Set aside the 3/4" strip for use later.
- Fold the card base in half and burnish, then fold (in the same direction) the lower portion of the card front along the 2-3/4" score line and burnish. Lay card front flat again.
- Adhere the bottom half of the front DSP layer to the card front. Do not allow the adhesive to go past the score line that is in the middle of the card front.
- Stamp sentiment on the 3/4" Basic White strip using Cajun Craze ink. Use Paper Snips to flag the right end of the strip.
- Adhere strip to card front using dimensionals. Be sure that it's adhered to the bottom half or at least to the DSP only so that it doesn't interfere with the easel mechanism.
- Add a Brushed Metallic Dot to the sentiment strip (and/or multiple dots anywhere you desire).
- Adhere the coordinating DSP to the lower portion of the inside of the card.
- Using dimensionals, adhere the DSP strip that you but in Step 1 just above the inside DSP. It should be oriented in such a way that it will look like it continues the pattern from the front when the card is in easel position.
- Stamp an inside sentiment as desired.
