A Splendid September Day
Here in southern Maine, it was a gorgeous September day... low 70's, sunny and breezy. I love September because the weather is mostly comfortable and it's the season when the beauty of New England really shows its colors, literally!
As I was preparing for this week's Friday Night Live, I knew I wanted to turn toward the fall season, even though it technically doesn't begin until later this month. And, as I looked at my supplies, I thought the Splendid Day Specialty DSP would come into play because of it's multi-seasonal nature. And because I have had it for awhile and not even opened the cellophane!
Measurements (a complete list of supplies can be found at the end of this post)
- Sahara Sand card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
- Sahara Sand layers (4" x 5-1/4", scrap)
- Early Espresso layer (at least 3-1/2" x 5", you'll trim it down later)
- Splendid Day DSP (six pieces measuring 5/8" x 3" each, 3/4" x 5-1/4")
- Basic White layer (4" x 5-1/4")
Directions
- Emboss the Sahara Sand layer using the Timeworn Type embossing folder and then adhere to card base.
- Arrange strips as desired and adhere to Early Espresso layer, maintaining consistent borders on the top and left sides, as well as between strips.
- Trim Early Espresso layer on the bottom and the right side so those borders are consistent with the top and left edges. Adhere to card base.
- Stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on scrap Sahara Sand. Punch out using the the Label Me Lovely punch and adhere to card front using dimensionals.
- Add Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots as desired.
- Adhere 3/4" x 5-1/4" strip of DSP to the Basic White layer and then adhere to the inside of the card.
