A Splendid September Day

Here in southern Maine, it was a gorgeous September day... low 70's, sunny and breezy. I love September because the weather is mostly comfortable and it's the season when the beauty of New England really shows its colors, literally!

As I was preparing for this week's Friday Night Live, I knew I wanted to turn toward the fall season, even though it technically doesn't begin until later this month. And, as I looked at my supplies, I thought the Splendid Day Specialty DSP would come into play because of it's multi-seasonal nature. And because I have had it for awhile and not even opened the cellophane!

Measurements (a complete list of supplies can be found at the end of this post)
  • Sahara Sand card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Sahara Sand layers (4" x 5-1/4", scrap)
  • Early Espresso layer (at least 3-1/2" x 5", you'll trim it down later)
  • Splendid Day DSP (six pieces measuring 5/8" x 3" each, 3/4" x 5-1/4")
  • Basic White layer (4" x 5-1/4")

Directions
  1. Emboss the Sahara Sand layer using the Timeworn Type embossing folder and then adhere to card base.
  2. Arrange strips as desired and adhere to Early Espresso layer, maintaining consistent borders on the top and left sides, as well as between strips.
  3. Trim Early Espresso layer on the bottom and the right side so those borders are consistent with the top and left edges. Adhere to card base.
  4. Stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on scrap Sahara Sand. Punch out using the the Label Me Lovely punch and adhere to card front using dimensionals.
  5. Add Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots as desired.
  6. Adhere 3/4" x 5-1/4" strip of DSP to the Basic White layer and then adhere to the inside of the card.
