Sending a Sunny Hello

Kids are heading to college which means...in a week or two they're going to be missing those of us at home! Send them some cheer in the form of a hand stamped card with a meaningful note of encouragement inside!

I recently received my August Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail and had some cute little bees left over, so I decided to create a quick and simple card using the same colors from the kit and my Sending Smiles stamp set. This stamp set is so great for sending all kinds of wishes!

Because this card is just one Thick Basic White card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4"), there's no need for me to have a Measurements section as I normally do! A full list of supplies can be found at the bottom of this post.

Directions
  1. Stamp "Sending" in Crushed Curry ink in the upper left corner of the card.
  2. Stamp "A Card to Say Hello," or whatever greeting you'd like, in Old Olive just underneath the "Sending."
  3. Stamp the larger stem in Old Olive ink along the bottom of the card. I stamped mine once on the right and then a little lower on the left.
  4. Stamp the smaller stem in Old Olive ink between the other two stems. Also stamp one on the lower left inside of the inside of the card, and on the envelope.
  5. Ink the various blossom stamps in Crushed Curry ink and add to the stems. You can use just one of the images or you can mix it up as I did here. I also added a flower to the inside of the card and the envelope.
  6. Stamp centers for the flowers in Soft Suede ink. Don't forget the one on the inside of the card and on the envelope!
  7. Add embellishments. I added the bees I had left over from my August Paper Pumpkin kit, but the brass butterflies also look great! You can see them on the stepped up version a little further down.
Watch me create this card during one of my Friday Night Lives:

Here's a stepped-up version, achieved by using the coordinating Sending Dies and the Brass Butterflies.
