Let's Go Camping

I love camping! My husband had a pop-up camper (a VERY old one) when we got married 26 years ago and we've been camping together ever since. And, for each of our 26 years together, we've gone camping with friends over the 4th of July weekend. This year, our group will number just over 40 people. So much fun! So, on the night before I left, I created a card for my "Friday Night Not-So-Live".

Measurements
  • Sahara Sand card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Mossy Meadow layer (4" x 5-1/4")
  • Basic White layers ( two 3-7/8" x 5-1/8")
  • Basic White scrap (large)
  • Sahara Sand scrap (medium)
  • Brushed Gold scrap (medium)
  • Very Vanilla scrap (small)
  • Basic Black scrap (small)
  • Night of Navy scrap (small)
  • Soft Suede scrap (small)

Directions
  1. Die cut camper from Sahara Sand scrap, the trim from Brushed Gold scrap and the curtain from Night of Navy scrap., and the tree trunks from Soft Suede scrap.
  2. Die cut the camper wheel and hitch from the Basic Black scrap.
  3. Stamp the large tree in Mossy Meadow onto Basic White scrap, then stamp another tree on the Basic White scrap without reinking. Stamp the medium tree by stamping onto scratch paper first, then onto Basic White scrap.
  4. Stamp the large tree detail in Evening Evergreen ink onto the darkest large tree, then again without reinking onto the other large tree.
  5. Stamp the medium detail tree in Mossy Meadow onto the previously stamped medium tree.
  6.  Die cut all three trees.
  7. Using blending brushes, add a sky in Balmy Blue to the upper two-thirds of one of the Basic White layers, and Mossy Meadow grass to the lower third.
  8. Cut off the Sahara Sand wheel and hitch and adhere the Basic Black wheel and hitch to the backside of the camper (only wheel and hitch will show).
  9. Adhere the gold trim to the front of the camper, the Very Vanilla scrap to the back of the camper so it shows through the holes, and add the curtain to the top of the window from the front side.
  10. Color in handle with an Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker, if desired.
  11. Stamp dog in the lower right corner using Cajun Craze ink, then add spots using the Early Espresso Stampin' Write (or Blend) marker.
  12. Adhere trees and tree trunks to the card front using glue.
  13. Adhere camper to the card front using dimensionals.
  14. Stamp "Woo-Hoo" in Mossy Meadow in upper right of card.
  15. Adhere layer to Mossy Meadow layer, then to card base.
  16. Stamp an inside greeting, tree and dog on the remaining layer for the inside of the card, similar to how you did it for the front, then adhere to the inside of the card.
  17. Stamp envelope as desired.
