Summer is Coming...Let's Go to the Beach!

 Summer is technically four days away, but it sure has felt like summer today! It's been gorgeous, except for a brief period of torrential rain and wind. Fortunately, all that came and went by the time my husband and I packed up to go...camping! But, since it's Friday, I brought some stamping gear along, including the beautiful Oceanfront stamp set, and created a quick, easy and beautiful beach scene. Best of all, I had my friend Karen join me as she happens to be on the neighboring campsite.



Measurements (full list of supplies at the bottom of this post)
  • Sahara Sand card base (4-1/4" x 11", scored and folded 5-1/2")
  • Basic Black layer (3-5/8" x 4-5/8")
  • Basic White layers (3-1/2" x 4-1/2", 4" x 5-1/4")
Directions
  1. Ink large rectangular-ish stamp in Balmy Blue, stamp off onto scratch paper, then stamp about 1/2" from the top of the smaller Basic White layer.
  2. Ink next largest stamp in Balmy Blue and stamp below first image, so that the horizontal lines align.
  3. Ink the small and long sand stamp using Sahara Sand and stamp along the bottom of the previous image.
  4. Ink the sand blotch stamp in Sahara Sand and add more sand on and below the previously stamped sand image.
  5. Ink the small grass clump in Mossy Meadow and stamp along the shoreline on the left
  6. Ink the slightly larger grass in Mossy Meadow and stamp along the shoreline on the right.
  7. Stamp "Just for You" or another greeting in Tuxedo Memento Black in the upper left corner.
  8. Add Pebbles Enamel Shapes near grass.
  9. Mount Basic White layer onto Basic Black layer, then adhere to card base using dimensionals.
  10. Stamp grass and/or sand on the remaining Basic White layer and adhere to the inside of the card.

 It was rainy and cool all day today, but that's not going to dampen my beach vibes! I was inspired by a card done by a German demonstrator named Antje to create this sweet little card featuring the On the Horizon bundle from the Jan-June mini catalog. Who Wants Some Apple Cider?

 It's apple season in Maine. I have to be honest, I don't pick a lot of apples. Or drink a lot of apple cider. But I do love apple cider doughnuts, so that counts, right? Tonight, I featured the More than Autumn bundle, which was also featured in my Sept. 24th Tune in Tuesday class. I love this bundle and think you will also! Measurements Crumb Cake card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Splendid Autumn DSP (medium green background and deep red background, each 3" x 4-1/2", plus a scrap of the deep red background) Basic White cardstock (5/8" x 3", scraps) Directions Adhere green background layer to card base on an angle, then add the red background layer on top, at a different angle.  Die cut circle from Basic White cardstock.  It's still summery here in southern Maine, but the nights are getting cooler and it won't be long before the leaves begin changing. Until then, I have a card for you made with the Changing Leaves bundle, an Online Exclusive from Stampin' Up! It's currently on backorder, but should be in the week of September 9th.
