It's Always Beach Time!

It was rainy and cool all day today, but that's not going to dampen my beach vibes! I was inspired by a card done by a German demonstrator named Antje to create this sweet little card featuring the On the Horizon bundle from the Jan-June mini catalog. This bundle will be retiring at the end of June, but since I live in a beach community, I can't see it retiring from my collection any time soon.

Measurements (complete supply list at the bottom of this post)
  • Thick Basic White card base (5-1/2" 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/")
  • Basic White scrap
  • Old Olive scrap
  • Chipboard or cardstock for template (4-1/2" x 5-1/2")

Directions
  1. Cut a circle out of the template material where you want the circle to be on your finished project (centered horizontally but more toward the top than bottom).
  2. Place the template over the front of the card.
  3. Using Crumb Cake ink pad and a blending brush, apply ink to the lower third of the circle window.
  4. Using Balmy Blue ink pad and a blending brush (either a different one or the one from the previous step that's been cleaned), apply ink to the rest of the circle window.
  5. Stamp the sea grass through the circle window just above the bottom of the window using Crumb Cake.
  6. Die cut small fence from Basic White scrap and two sea grass forms from Old Olive scrap.
  7. Ink the woodgrain image in Smoky Slate and stamp off onto scrap paper once or twice before stamping onto fence die cut.
  8. Use a Water Painter or paint brush to add Mossy Meadow ink to one of the sea grass die cuts.
  9. Adhere two sea grass die cuts together, staggering them just slightly.
  10. Add a little liquid glue to the bottom of the two smallest fence posts and adhere to card front.
  11. Add glue to the back of the sea grass and adhere over the fence.
  12. Stamp the birds and sentiment on card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  13. Add some Pebbles Enamel Shapes.
  14. Stamp inside of card and envelope as desired.
