Easy Mirror Technique

I am SOOO excited to share this EASY method of mirroring with you. Over my close to 25 years of stamping, I've tried several methods that involved vellum, acetate, clear blocks, etc., and I've never had results that have satisfied me...until now!

All you need is a silicone craft sheet, one of Stampin' Up!'s lesser known/used tools, in my opinion. In this video, I also use a Stamparatus, which helps with positioning and restamping if images aren't dark enough.

Measurements for consumable items:
  • Cajun Craze card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", folded in half at 4-1/4")
  • Heart & Home DSP (4" x 5-1/4")
  • Basic Black layer (2-5/8" x 3-3/8")
  • Basic White layers (2-1/4" x 3", 4" x 5-1/4")
Directions (video tutorial link below)
  1. Place Basic White layer onto Stamparatus as desired. You don't want it too close to the edges as good impressions are difficult there. Note placement of corners as well as where the center line is.
  2. Place fox stamp onto Basic White layer where you want it to stamp, then close Stamparatus lid so the stamp attaches to it.
  3. Ink fox in Memento Tuxedo Black pad, close lid of Stamparatus so image is stamped onto the cardstock.
  4. Remove cardstock and place silicone sheet into Stamparatus. Ink fox again and stamp onto silicone sheet.
  5. Take the Basic White layer that you had previously stamped the fox on, flip it over and position it exactly where it was before (except face down) onto the silicone sheet. Close Stamparatus lid and press down. This will transfer the ink from the silicone sheet onto the cardstock, creating a mirror image of the first fox.
  6. Color foxes as desired, using Stampin' Blends.
  7. Stamp the grass image in Granny Apple Green ink, then color in bottom area with Granny Apply Green Blends.
  8. Stamp sentiment above foxes in Granny Apple Green.
  9. Layer stamped layer onto Basic Black layer, then DSP layer and then onto the card front.
  10. Add three brushed brass butterflies.
  11. On the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layer, stamp a fox in the lower right corner using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and color with Blends as desired. Adhere to the inside of the card.
