No Naked Bear Ladies!

Image
Did you see what I did there with that title? I don't listen to the Barenaked Ladies except during the opening and closing of The Big Bang episodes, but I know they're a band. BTW, if you have never seen that TV show (Big Bang is in reruns only now), you've GOT to! Anyway, I wanted to show you an easy way to alter images, such as the naked bear in Count on Me. Isn't her jumper just the cutest?! Measurements for Consumable Supplies (full list of supplies at the bottom) Pool Party card (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4") Early Espresso layer (3-5/8" x 4-7/8") Basic White layers (3-1/2" x 4-3/4", 3-3/4" x 5") Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon (8-9") Directions Stamp bear to the left of center on the smaller Basic White layer. Use mirroring technique ( https://stamperhood.blogspot.com/2022/04/easy-mirror-technique.html )  to stamp the mirror image of the bear to the right of center. Bear bodies should be very close or e...

Easy Mirror Technique

Image
I am SOOO excited to share this EASY method of mirroring with you. Over my close to 25 years of stamping, I've tried several methods that involved vellum, acetate, clear blocks, etc., and I've never had results that have satisfied me...until now! All you need is a silicone craft sheet, one of Stampin' Up!'s lesser known/used tools, in my opinion. In this video, I also use a Stamparatus, which helps with positioning and restamping if images aren't dark enough.  Measurements for consumable items: Cajun Craze card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", folded in half at 4-1/4") Heart & Home DSP (4" x 5-1/4") Basic Black layer (2-5/8" x 3-3/8") Basic White layers (2-1/4" x 3", 4" x 5-1/4") Directions (video tutorial link below) Place Basic White layer onto Stamparatus as desired. You don't want it too close to the edges as good impressions are difficult there. Note placement of corners as well as where the center line is. ...

Easter Backets in Three Sizes

Image
I recently came across a video by a fellow demonstrator or shared an Easter basket designed by someone else (unnamed). I loved it and decided to recreate it and then alter measurements to create two different sizes. The video (linked further below) shows you how to create the original basket. The small and medium basket measurements are noted. Cardstock (and other supply) Measurements: Pale Papaya (8-1/2" x 8-1/2", 1" x 8-1/2", scrap) Basic White (scraps to punch four daisies) Directions Beginning with the 8-1/2" square piece of cardstock, score at 2-5/8" on all four sides. On one end, score at 7/8", 1-3/4", 6-3/4" and 7-5/8" only to the first score line you come to. Rotate cardstock 180 degrees and repeat Step 2. Cut the squares on the score lines you began with (the ones at 2-5/8") that are parallel to the score lines you just added, but only to the middle score line. With an edge that has only two score lines facing toward the ...

Daisies...or bunnies?

Image
This week is a busy week for me. I'm responsible for a lot of the advance work of Easter where I work, I've got a Kit workshop on Friday, my all-day Rethink the Reink(er) Block Party on Saturday, and a Kit workshop on Sunday. So...I needed something quick and simple for my Friday Night (Not So) Live this week. And this card, by my fellow demo and friend, Kim Wilson, fit the bill! Supplies Thick Basic White card (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4") Simply Marbleous DSP (two 2" x 5-1/4", one 1" x 3-3/4") Basic White cardstock (medium/large scrap) Directions Adhere the Gorgeous Grape DSP to the bottom of the card front and the Pool Party Marbleous DSP on the top half of the card front. Stamp "Happy Easter" on the Blushing Bride Marbleous DSP in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Adhere this layer to the center of the card. Cut each daisy in half, then trim away the petals on each end of three of the halves, keeping the circular form in th...
