Making Waves on a Friday Night (Live)
Those who know me, know I love the ocean. Well, I love the ocean when it's not crowded or hot. And I love to look at it more than go in it. But, nevertheless, I love it. So, when Stampin' Up! released the Waves of the Ocean Collection, I knew it was a matter of time before I broke down and ordered it. As it turned out, I couldn't even wait until the collection launched to the public. One of the perks of being a demo...first access! Anyway, this is the first card I made with it!
Measurements
- Thick Basic White cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4")
- Blue Foil (4" x 5-1/4")
- Basic White cardstock (3-3/4" x 5")
Directions
- Mount the wave stamp on one of the clear plates of the Stamparatus. Determine placement of the Basic White layer in relation to the stamp.
- Ink the stamp in Balmy Blue. Add areas of Pacific Point and Night of Navy using sponge daubers then stamp onto the Basic White layer.
- Ink up the stamp again using Balmy Blue and stamp again. Repeat, if desired.
- Using a blending brush, add a light layer of Balmy Blue to the sky area.
- Stamp the sentiment in the upper right using Night of Navy ink.
- Stamp birds as desired using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- Using a rectangular die or your paper trimmer, remove the middle of the blue foil layer.
- Adhere the wave layer to the blue foil, then to the card using adhesive of choice.
- Add Waves Rhinestones as desired.
- Stamp a wave onto the inside of the card using second generation stamping.
