Super Shiny, Super Easy Fun Fold Friday

Image
Just coming off of vacation, so I knew I'd need something easy to prep for and show during a live. Vacation is fun, but boy is there a lot of work to come back to! I'm so thankful I cleared my desk at work before leaving. My studio desk...well, that was not clean when I returned home! But, here's a great card to display that beautiful DSP you've been hoarding! Measurements (see end of post for a complete list of supplies) Smoky Slate (4-1/4" x 5-1/2", 4-1/4" x 9-3/4", scored at 3-1/4" and 6-1/2") Basic White (3" x 4", scrap) DSP (two 3" x 4", one 4" x 5-1/4" that is a different pattern than the two 3" x 4") Directions Adhere the 4" x 5-1/4" DSP to the 4-1/4" 5-1/2" Smoky Slate. Fold the 4-1/4" x 9-3/4" Smoky Slate piece in a Z pattern and adhere to card base (Step 1). Add one of the 3" x 4" DSP layers to the front of the Z layer, and the second 3" x 4...

Do You Wordle?

Image
Do you play Wordle? I do. I actually play Wordle, Quordle (4 at a time), Octordle (8 at a time) and Nerdle (math version). I have one friend with whom I share my results and he shares his. We're both nerds, I know. Several weeks ago, I saw a card by a fellow demonstrator, Ashley Fifer, that was Wordle-inspired and perfect for my friend. Perhaps you have some Wordlers in your life who might like this card! Measurements Basic Black card (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4") Basic Black layer (5-1/2" x 2-5/16") Basic White (4" x 5-1/4", two 5-1/2" X 1/2" strips, scraps) Basic Gray scrap  Granny Apple Green scrap Daffodil Delight scrap Directions Adhere Basic White scrap(s) to an adhesive sheet. Die cut the letters and hyphen (which is half of the equal sign). Cut four 1" Basic Gray squares (one of these is for the inside of the card). Cut two 1" Daffodil Delight squares (one of these is for the inside of the card). Cut eigh...

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Image
St. Patrick's Day is coming up, so I decided to put my Rainbow of Happiness Bundle to good use. This isn't a St. Patrick's Day-specific card, I simply was inspired by iconic St. Patrick's Day images. Measurements Thick Basic White Card (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Basic White layers (4" x 5-1/4", 1" x 4", small scrap) Basic Black scrap (at least 1-1/2" square) Gold foil scrap  White Baker's Twine (about 5") Directions On large Basic White layer, stamp the rainbow using Melon Mambo, Mango Medley, Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay. You can stamp largest to smallest or the other way, but make sure the top of your rainbow will be about 1" from the top of the layer. Die cut the the rainbow border from the long Basic White piece, a 1-1/2" circle from the Basic Black, three clouds from the Basic White scraps and two clouds from the Gold Foil. You should be able to do all this in two passes -...

Making Waves on a Friday Night (Live)

Image
Those who know me, know I love the ocean. Well, I love the ocean when it's not crowded or hot. And I love to look at it more than go in it. But, nevertheless, I love it. So, when Stampin' Up! released the Waves of the Ocean Collection, I knew it was a matter of time before I broke down and ordered it. As it turned out, I couldn't even wait until the collection launched to the public. One of the perks of being a demo...first access! Anyway, this is the first card I made with it! Measurements Thick Basic White cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4") Blue Foil (4" x 5-1/4") Basic White cardstock (3-3/4" x 5") Directions Mount the wave stamp on one of the clear plates of the Stamparatus. Determine placement of the Basic White layer in relation to the stamp. Ink the stamp in Balmy Blue. Add areas of Pacific Point and Night of Navy using sponge daubers then stamp onto the Basic White layer. Ink up the stamp again using Balmy Blue ...
