Otterly Floating Strips

 It's New Year's Eve! Who's ready to ring in the new year? This guy, that's who! This cute little otter comes from the Awesome Otters stamp set, which in the Sale-a-bration brochure that goes live January 4, 2022. Measurements
  • Basic White Thick Cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4")
  • Basic White cardstock (two scraps, one of which is a rectangle or square to go behind otter...the one in the video measured 1-1/2" x 2")
  • Melon Mambo strips (1/4" x 3" and 1/2" x 3")
  • Daffodil Delight strips (1/4" x 3" and 1/2" x 3")
  • Granny Apply Green strips (1/4" x 3" and 1/2" x 3")
  • Bermuda Bay strips (1/4" x 3" and 1/2" x 3")
  • Window Sheet (3" x 4"...you'll cut it down smaller once all the strips have been placed)

Directions
Note: You may want to do Step 5 first so you can let the glue set up.
  1. Stamp otter in Memento ink on Basic White scrap, then stamp the hat on his head.
  2. Color using Stampin' Blends.
  3. Cut out otter and use the Smoky Slate Blend on the edges of the cardstock to create a more finished look.
  4. Apply dimensionals and adhere otter to Basic White rectangle.
  5. Glue the cardstock strips to the window sheet, alternating thin and thick and leaving a consistent space between them. 
  6. Allow the glue to dry a bit and then trim the length of the window sheet to coincide with the edge of the last colored cardstock strip.
  7. Adhere strips to card base with dimensionals, taking care that the dimensionals are only adhered to the areas covered by the cardstock.
  8. Stamp "It's birthday time!" underneath strip piece.
  9. Apply an odd number of Basic Rhinestones to the front of the card as desired (not shown on video).
  10. Stamp the sentiment in one of the colors and party hats in different colors on the inside of the card.
  11. Stamp a party hat (or a few) on the envelope.
