A Coastal Christmas

Tonight, I shared how my dog stole a sand dollar/seashell ornament off my tree and ate it. I discovered it as I was beginning to think about what I wanted to do for the week's Facebook Live. And, thus, this card was born.

Measurements

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4")
  • Basic White (scrap)
  • Coastal Cabana cardstock (3/4" x 5" strip, scraps)
  • Blushing Bride cardstock (scrap)
  • Crumb Cake (scrap)
  • Linen Thread (at least 12")

Directions

  1. Stamp boughs in Evening Evergreen on the card front such that one set (of two) boughs are pointing up and two are pointing down, with a gap in the middle.
  2. Stamp Merry Christmas in Versamark on Coastal Cabana strip, and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Flag ends.
  3. Stamp two small shells in Versamark onto Coastal Cabana scraps and two onto Blushing Bride stamps, then heat emboss with white embossing powder. Cut out each.
  4. Stamp starfish in Memento Black onto Crumb Cake cardstock and cut out (or die cut).
  5. Stamp sand dollar onto Basic White scrap, add shading around the edges and "holes" using Light Crumb Cake Blend marker. Soften edges with Color Lifter. Cut out (or die cut).
  6. Determine placement of all elements.
  7. Apply three dimensionals to the back of the Merry Christmas strip and add to the gap between the boughs while at the same time arranging Linen Thread behind it.
  8. Add starfish, seashells and sand dollar where desired using a combination of Liquid Glue and dimensionals (or mini dimensionals).
  9. Add three Opal Rounds to card front.
  10. Stamp a greeting on the inside and embellish with leftover cut out seashells.
