Leaves, Leaves and More Leaves!

The leaves are dropping fast at my house. The ground is covered and there's still a TON left on the trees. BUT, I still love this time of year. And I couldn't resist working with my Gorgeous Leaves bundle that I received last week. I don't know what took me so long to pull the trigger on this stamp set!

For tonight's Friday Night Live, I decided how you could take a simple concept and step it up several times. If you've only got a very short time to come up with something, or if you're going for a very clean and simple look, then this card is perfect!

If you're going for the "more is more" look, then this card does the trick. On the video (linked below), I show several other variations between the two.

Measurements (for the stepped up version shown immediately above)
  • Early Espresso (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half. Plus a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" layer)
  • Very Vanilla (2-7/8" x 5-1/2", 2-1/2" x 5-1/2", 7/8" x 2-1/2" and a 4" x 5-1/4" layer for inside)
  • Brushed Metallic Gold (two pieces 3/8" x 5-1/2")
  • Gold Shimmer Ribbon (16-17")

Directions (some of these steps can be done out of order, do what's most comfortable)
  1. Ink maple leaf image fully in Bumblebee, then use a sponge dauber to apply Cajun Craze and a tiny bit of Early Espresso ink on the 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" Very Vanilla layer.
  2. Clean the stamp on Stampin' Scrub or Stampin' Shammy and repeat three more times, altering the position of the stamp each time.
  3. Adhere this layer (leaves) onto the brushed metallic pieces just so they peak out at the top and bottom.
  4. Wrap Gold Shimmer ribbon around the leaves and tie in a knot.
  5. Adhere layer to larger 2-7/8" x 5-1/2" Very Vanilla layer.
  6. Stamp "Thank You" in Early Espresso ink onto small piece of Very Vanilla and affix to card front using dimensionals.
  7. Using the Bark 3D embossing folder, emboss the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" layer of Early Espresso, then adhere it to the card base.
  8. Adhere focal layer (leaves) to the Early Espresso layer/base combo.
  9. Stamp a leaf to the lower left corner of the 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla layer in the same way you stamped in Step 1, then adhere to the inside of the card.
