It's Fall, Time to Put on a Coat - Joseph's Coat!
I recently received a request from one of my team members to show how to do the Joseph's Coat Technique as she had tried it without success. As we've just hit October and the weather is getting chillier, it seemed appropriate to put a coat on... Joseph's Coat!
Measurements (complete list of supplies at the bottom of the post)
- Basic White Cardstock (3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and 4" x 5-1/4")
- Crushed Curry layers(4" x 5-1/4", 1/2" x 2-3/4")
- Basic Black card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half at 4-1/4")
- Bermuda Bay layer (1/2" x 3")
Directions
- Beginning with the Basic White layer, apply inks (I used sponge daubers with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay inks) randomly all over. Don't worry about how weird it looks. Allow to dry completely (overnight, if you can).
- Ink the tri-floral image from Art Gallery in Versamark and stamp in the center of the colored Basic White piece, then reink and stamp randomly around the rest of the card.
- Apply clear embossing powder, then heat just until the embossing powder melts.
- Using a Stampin' Sponge or sponge dauber, apply Memento Black all over the top of the piece you just stamped on.
- Rub images with a soft cloth to buff away any black ink on the top of them.
- Layer pretty layer onto Crushed Curry layer, then onto Basic Black card.
- Stamp "I'm thinking of you" on the small Crushed Curry piece in Memento Black, then layer onto Bermuda Bay. Adhere to card using dimensionals.
- Apply three Brushed Metallic Dots to card.
- Stamp inside layer (4" x 5-1/4") as desired and adhere to the inside of the card.
Here's the video of tonight's Friday Night Live where I demonstrated this card.
