Happy World Card Making Day 2021!

What do you do on World Card Making Day? You make cards! I have a simple technique that will allow you to make NINE cards with just a bit of cardstock (I used four and a half sheets of Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, one sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock and a little more than one sheet of Early Espresso, some adhesive, dimensionals, Brushed Metallic dots and linen thread.

Directions

1. Using a stamp set with small and medium images, fill Very Vanilla sheet with images using 3-4 colors of ink. I used the stamp set Forever Fern with Bumble Bee, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso ink pads.

2. Cut according to the template below (based on 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock). Image is not to scale, athough close.

  • Cut at 4" along short side.

  • Take the 4" x 11" piece and cut at 5-1/4", and cut the resulting piece on a diagonal as shown. These are your A pieces.

  • Cut the 4" x 5-3/4" piece on the long side at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2. The two pieces that measure 4" x 2-3/4" are your D pieces and the leftover piece is scrap that you can use on the inside of a card, if desired.

  • Cut the 4-1/2" x 11" piece along the long side at 6", 4-1/2", 3" and 1-1/2". Two of the resulting 4-1/2" x 1-1/2" pieces are your B pieces.

  • The other two pieces that measure 4-1/2" x 1-1/2" are your C pieces and each needs to be cut at 3"and 1-1/2" on their long sides.

  • Take the remaining large piece that measures 5" x 4-1/2" and cut it at 3-3/4" on the short side. The resulting 5" x 3-3/4" piece is your E piece. The other is a scrap that can be used inside a card, if desired.
3. Cut accent/backing layers from Early Espresso cardstock as desired and create cards. Cut the Early Espresso layers as follows:
    • B: 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" (or 4-3/4" x 2" if you want to tear)
    • C: 5" x 1-3/4"
    • D: 3" x 4-1/4"
    • E: 4" x 5-1/4"

4. Add embellishments/sentiments as desired.

You don't have to use neutral bases, nor do you have to use white or vanilla as the base of your One Sheet Wonder! Here are the nine cards I created from a One Sheet Wonder made with a base of Balmy Blue cardstock, Snowflake Wishes stamp set and Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy inks.
