Gorgeous Leaves

I was so excited to get this bundle earlier this week! I love fall and I love making fall cards because the color combinations are so life-giving to me. I decided to go a little off the beaten path with this combination, but it made my fall card no less wonderful!

Measurements (full list of supplies at the bottom of this post)

  • Early Espresso cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in 4-1/4")
  • Early Espresso layers (3-1/4" x 3-1/4", 1-3/4" x 3", medium scrap)
  • Very Vanilla layers (two 4" x 5-1/4", 3" x 3", 1-1/2" x 2-3/4")
  • Pool Party scrap
  • Soft Sea Foam scrap
  • Linen thread (about 8")
Directions
  1. Stamp a leaf on one of the 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla layers and adhere to the inside of the card.
  2. Stamp a sentiment of choice on the smallest Very Vanilla layer using Early Espresso ink.
  3. Apply a small amount of adhesive to the centers of the small and medium Very Vanilla layers.
  4. Tack the medium Very Vanilla layer onto the remaining 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla layer, as desired, and then tack the smaller layer on top of that. You can follow the look of my card above or do your own.
  5. Beginning with the largest leaf image, stamp randomly over the three layers of Very Vanilla in Pool Party. It's okay (and even preferable) for the image to overlap more than one layer.
  6. Repeat process with the long leaf image in Crumb Cake ink and the again with the smaller leaf image in Soft Sea Foam ink, filling up the paper.
  7. Take the layers apart and adhere the largest Very Vanilla layer to the Early Espresso card base.
  8. Adhere the square Very Vanilla layer to the square Early Expresso layer and then adhere to the card base, taking care to make sure the images appear seamless where they overlap layers.
  9. Repeat this process with the smaller layers.
  10. Die cut three different-sized leaves, the largest from Early Espresso, one from Pool Party and one from Soft Sea Foam.
  11. Apply a little glue to the backs of the leaves and adhere to the left side of the sentiment layer.
  12. Wrap linen thread around the stems of the leaves and tie in a bow (or just make a bow and attach with a glue dot).

Here's the Facebook Live video where I demonstrated this card.
