4th Sunday of Christmas
On the 4th Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me...a cute, little, skinny bag! This bag is made from just a 6" x 6" square of DSP and will hole a few small candies, lip balm or even jewelry items. What's better, just by tying the bow a little differently, you can create a loop to hang it on a Christmas tree!
Measurements for consumable items (complete list of supplies at the bottom of the post)
- Painted Christmas DSP (6" x 6")
- Soft Succulent layer (1" x 3-3/4")
- Evening Evergreen scrap (large enough to fit all four letters of NOEL)
- Foam Adhesive Sheet (slightly smaller than Evening Evergreen scrap)
- Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon (12-18", depending on bow size and if you want to hang it from a tree)
Template indicating Steps 1-2 of Directions
Directions
- Score at 1/2", 1-1/2", 3-1/4" and 4-1/4" on one side, rotate and score at 1" on adjacent side (this will be the bottom of the box).
- Remove the 1/2" x 1" rectangle in the corner, as shown, and cut along the other three 1" score marks to form the bottom flaps of the bag.
- With the right side (outside) of the DSP facing down, add strips of Tear and Tape to the two longer bottom flaps on the wrong (inside) sides.
- Still with the right side (outside) of the DSP facing down, fold the 1/2" tab to the inside and add Tear and Tape.
- Remove adhesive backing from the 1/2" tab and fold DSP along the middle score line so that the 1/2" tab adheres to the opposite side of the bag. It should line up beautifully if you've scored correctly.
- Pinch the tops of the narrow sides of the bag together and insert into the tag punch as far as it will go, making sure the bag is centered in the punch left to right. Punch.
- Adhere Soft Succulent layer to the front of the bag.
- Adhere the foam adhesive piece to the back of the Evening Evergreen scrap and die cut the letters NOEL.
- Remove adhesive backing from the letters and adhere to Soft Succulent layer.
- Open bag up and form the bottom of the bag by removing the adhesive backings, folding the two smaller flaps in first, then folding in each of the larger flaps. Insert a bone folder or eraser end of a pencil into the bag to help secure the flaps to one another and create a well-adhered bag bottom.
- Insert gift into bag, then slip the ribbon through the tag holes and tie a bow. Create a loop in the ribbon first if you'd like to hang from a tree.
