Fall Ferns

Today I have a simple, yet classy fall card for you using a set that most people would relegate to the spring/summer months. Simply by changing the color scheme, the set gets new life in the fall and, by changing it again, could make beautiful winter cards. For the link to the video for this card, scroll down.

Supplies/Measurements
  • Early Espresso Card Base (4-1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5-1/2")
  • Cork Specialty Paper (4" x 5-1/4", scrap for inside)
  • Very Vanilla layer for inside (4" x 5-1/4")
  • Very Vanilla scraps (one that is at least 3" x 4-1/4", and two smaller ones to accommodate the stamps)
  • Bumble Bee ribbon (approximately 10")

Directions
  1. Cut the Cork Specialty Paper diagonally, so that the cut is 1-1/2 to 2" below one corner and a similar amount above the opposite corner. Adhere to card base.
  2. Stamp the long leafy image in Mellow Moss in the center of the large scrap of Very Vanilla.
  3. Stamp the shorter leafy image in Bumble Bee and the eucalyptus in Cajun Craze on a smaller scrap of Very Vanilla.
  4. Die cut all stamped images at once, using the middle-sized scalloped rectangle from The Scalloped Rectangles dies and the dies from Forever Flourishing that coordinate with the stamps used.
  5. Adhere the two leafy images on top of the Mossy Meadow image as desired to create the focal layer.
  6. Adhere focal layer to the card base with dimensionals.
  7. Tie a bow with the ribbon, trim ends and affix to card using a glue dot.
  8. Stamp as desired on the 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla layer, adhere a scrap strip of cork paper and adhere to the inside of the card.
