3rd Sunday of Christmas
On the 3rd Sunday of Christmas, my demo shared with me...a doorhanger to delight my friends, coworkers and neighbors! Full directions, as well as an instructional video follow.
Template
- Thick Basic White cardstock (4-1/4" x 11")
- Designer Series Paper (3" x 3-3/8", 3" x 4")
- Real Red cardstock (scrap)
- Basic White cardstock (scrap)
- Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon (18-20")
Directions
- With long side along trimmer bottom, score at 7" and 7-5/8".
- Rotate 90 degrees and score at 5/8". Repeat on other short edge.
- Mark 3-5/8" in from the long end (where the circle is in the diagram), just between the edge and the 5/8" score mark. Do this on both sides.
- Using scissors or paper trimmer, remove the rectangles as shown in the diagram.
- Burnish all score lines.
- Cut the tabs in the middle, mitering them as shown.
- Apply Tear & Tape to the rectangles and square tabs at the opposite end from where the circle will be cut (left end on diagram). Don't remove backing yet.
- Flip cardstock over and apply the smaller piece of DSP to the square (opposite from the end that will have the circle cutout).
- Flip the cardstock back over and apply the smaller piece of DSP to the end where the circle will be cut out.
- Punch (or die cut) circle.
- Remove adhesive backing from Tear and Tape and form box, with small tabs going on the outside of the middle rectangular pieces and the rectangular pieces at the left end (of diagram) on the outside of those. See the video, it's not nearly as difficult or confusing as this sounds.
- Stamp Sentiment in Evening Evergreen onto Basic White scrap.
- Using Tasteful Label dies, die cut the sentiment and the larger shape from the Real Red cardstock.
- Adhere Real Red layer to front of door hanger.
- Tie ribbon around the card so that the bow is on the very edge of the Real Red shape.
- Affix sentiment on top of Real Red layer using dimensionals.
- Cut slit from the outside edge of the hanger up to the circle to make this adaptable to any kind/size of door handle.
