Sweet Little Monkey Asleep on the Leaves

Image
It's been awhile since I've needed to send a baby card, but since I do have a coworker who will be welcoming a child at the end of summer, I thought I would get a head start! And since I was playing with the Little Monkey bundle for an upcoming class, I decided now was a good time. Paper supplies and their measurements Basic White Notecard Basic White cardstock (3" x 4", scraps) Pecan Pie cardstock (scrap) Crumb Cake (scrap) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock (scrap) Glorious Gingham DSP (1-1/2" x 5") Directions Stamp the large leaves in Garden Green ink in the middle of the Basic White layer, radiating the leaves out from the center. I stamped three directly onto the layer and then I stamped two on my scrap layer. Color using Lemon Lime Twist Blends. Fussy cut the two on the scrap layer. Stamp the bushier leaves around the previously stamped leaves, also using Garden Green ink and color them with the Granny Apple Green Blends. Fill in white areas with the vine imag...

Sneaking up on Father's Day

The Gorgeous Garden dies are...gorgeous! They can dress anything up and the detail on them is fantastic. One way I had not even considered using the leafy die is in creating a wildlife scene. But, Stampin' Up! provides venues for demonstrators to share their ideas and UK demonstrator Zoe Tant did just that. Her layout was a little different and she used some different images and colors, but it was inspiration for my card below. I just love how we are both inspired by and inspire others. Consumable Supplies and Measurements Garden Green card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Garden Green cardstock (two 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", or slightly smaller) Basic White (4" x 5-1/4", scrap if you want to cut out your image) Fresh as a Daisy DSP (the sky/ground scenic panel) In Color Jute (Pebbled Path, 12-15") Directions Die cut the leafy die from one of the Garden Green panels. If you've used a slightly smaller layer, don't wor...

Timeless Arrangements is timeless AND versatile!

Image
When the new catalog came out in April (as a demonstrator, I saw it a month before it went live), I noticed a lot of things, but Timeless Arrangements wasn't one that got much of a second glance. And, yet, now I think it will be a set that I use many, many times. First, it has a lot of sentiments...something we all need more of, am I right? Second, the dies make for easy dimension and use. They are soooo easy to use but give the illusion that I probably spent a lot of time gluing little pieces onto my card. Love simple that looks tedious!  Measurements Pretty Peacock card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Basic White cardstock (4" x 5-1/4", scraps) Pretty Peacock cardstock (scrap) Hello, Irresistible DSP (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") Basic White Herringbone Ribbon (about 4") Directions Adhere DSP to card front. Stamp sentiment (I used a sentiment from Something Fancy because my loyal followers requested a sympathy card) on Basic...

Celebrate with Color

Image
There's so much to celebrate this time of year...graduation, end of school (for kids AND teachers), birthdays, retirements, weddings, etc. And by now, the weather is generally consistently pretty nice. What better way to acknowledge someone's reason to celebrate than with a bright and cheerful handmade card. With many of our Designer Series Paper (DSP) collections on sale this month, you can celebrate as you celebrate! Even though there's the Zoo Crew DSP (on sale) that coordinates with my Zany Zoo bundle, I decided to go even more bold with the Bright & Beautiful DSP (also on sale). Measurements Blueberry Bushel card base (4-1/4" x 11", scored and folded in half at 5-1/2") Bold & Beautiful DSP (stripes: 4" x 5-1/4" and 3/4" x 4", blue: 2-1/2" x 3-3/4") Basic White cardstock (2-5/8" x 3-7/8", 4" x 5-1/4", scrap for raccoon) Directions Stamp raccoon in Memento Black, then color with Blends. Die cut. Ad...
