Nuts about Fruit!

Image
As I was creating projects for my Sweet Citrus Class, a thought and a song popped into my head and I just had to create a card with the inspiration. How cute is this?! It makes me want to book a tropical vacation, that's for sure! Paper Supplies and Measurements Tahitian Tide card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Thick Basic White carstock (large scrap) Basic White cardstock (two 4" x 5-1/4", scraps) Watercolor paper (scraps) Directions Use a Blending Brush to add Tahitian Tide ink in an ombre effect on one of the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layers, then emboss using the Sweet Citrus embossing folder. Stamp the outline of the fruit rind image in Pecan Pie onto Thick Basic White scrap. Die cut using the Sweet Citrus dies (you'll only need the two largest pieces). Add a little Smoky Slate ink with a Water Painter to the centers of the two largest pieces to create the illusion of a coconut's center.  Stamp the outline ...

Here's a card made with just simple stamping...no punches or dies. Stamp short vase in Pebbled Path and trim the bottom of the Basic White layer so that the space at the top and bottom are about equal. Adhere stampe...

Flowers are Blooming in my Stamp Studio!

It was a gorgeous day in Maine today, but the flowers aren't quite ready to bloom outside. However, they are blooming in my stamp studio! The Art Gallery stamp set and it's coordinating Floral Gallery dies are on the Last Chance List at 60% off. The catalog price total is $56, but the Last Chance List price is just $22.40. That is an amazing savings and I can't quite figure out why it hasn't sold out yet. But, I'm going to use mine for one more Friday Night Live before they retire. Cardstock/DSP Measurements Calypso Coral card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Calypso Coral layer (1-3/8" x 4-1/4") Basic White layer (3-1/2" x 4-3/4", 4" x 5-1/4") Fancy Flora DSP (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") Directions Die cut 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" Basic White layer using second largest rectangle from Scalloped Contours dies. Using Calypso Coral ink, stamp the less detailed flower image off onto scrap paper fir...
