12 Sundays of Christmas - Week 9 (Christmas Place Setting with Treat)

Image
Do you host Christmas dinner? Here's a cute idea I gleaned from a demonstrator who attended an OnStage event (convention for SU demonstrators). Paper/Linen Thread Measurements Vellum cardstock (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") Basic White cardstock (scrap) Crumb Cake cardstock (scrap) Linen Thread (15") Directions Die cut mini pocket envelope from vellum cardstock. Stamp sentiment (this one came from Sweet Candy Canes) in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake scrap and die cut using the rectangular scallop die. The sentiment should be to the right, not centered. Stamp the tree from Penguin Place twice on Basic White scrap, once in Mint Macaron ink and once in Evening Evergreen ink. Fussy cut trees. Glue trees to Crumb Cake/sentiment die cut. Form mini pocket envelope by folding and burnishing on score lines, then applying Tear & Tape to tabs. Fold over any excess Tear & Tape onto itself so as not to have parts sticking where they shouldn't. Insert treat, fold over top, bur...

I was late to the penguin game, passing them over last year and only purchasing them this year, but they sure are cute! Paper Measurement (full list of supplies at the bottom of this post) Orchid Oasis (5-1/2" x 4-1/4", scrap) Basic White (3-1/4" x 11"scored and folded in half at 5-1/2", scrap) Basic Black (scrap) Pumpkin Pie (scrap) Directions On Orchid Oasis layer, stamp snowflakes in Orchid Oasis ink down both edges. Stamp eyes onto the face portion of the Basic White punch using Memento Tuxedo Black and the beak using Pumpkin Pie ink. Adhere this layer to the Basic Black penguin punch. Adhere feet to the penguin. Stamp bow tie and knit hat images in Orchid Oasis ink onto Orchid Oasis scrap and cut out. Be sure to leave a tab und...

12 Sundays of Christmas - Week 8

On the 8th Sunday of Christmas, Sharon shared with me... an Impossible Box. I first discovered Julie DiMateo's Impossible Boxes two years ago. The one I saw was sized to fit a personal hand sanitizer from Bath & Body. This year, I decided to resize the pattern to fit a tube of hand cream. The finished measurements of this box is 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 5". It holds a 2 oz tube of hand cream (this Jergen's one fits, as does a 2 oz tube of Udderly Smooth hand cream). I recommend measuring before buying...I'm sure you can guess why, LOL. Paper Measurements (complete list of supplies at the bottom of this post) Balmy Blue cardstock (7-1/2" x 8-3/4", 1/2" x 2-1/4") Storybook Gnomes DSP 2 pcs of Pattern 1 (2" x 3-1/2") 2 pcs of Pattern 1 (1" x 3-1/2") 2 pcs of Pattern 2 (2" x 1") 2 pcs of Pattern 2 (1" x 1") 1 of the large gnomes from the DSP Watch the video - it's the best way to figure it out. The dire...

Snowy, Foxy Christmas

I like to have my Friday Night Live project determined at least a few days in advance. This week, however, I was 24 hours away with no idea what I was going to do, so I asked my Facebook followers. Mountain Air was suggested, so I went with it. Sort of. I got my inspiration from fellow demonstrator, Tammy Wilson. This card uses Mountain Air AND shows a simply technique to give a snowy day effect. Perfect as we got our first snowfall this week! Paper Measurements (full list of supplies at the bottom of this post) Evening Evergreen card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded in half at 4-1/4") Thick Basic White layer (2-5/8" x 3-7/8") Basic White layers (two 4" x 5-1/4", 3-1/2" x 4-3/4", 5/8" x 2") Storybook Gnomes DSP (fox) Directions Use a Blending Brush to apply Balmy Blue ink to the Thick Basic White layer. Ink trees (I used both the single tree and the double tree images) in Old Olive ink and then use a sponge dauber to apply ...
